Surely it ran consecutively from 1963 to 1989, non-consecutively from 1963 to 2006+?
The GBR is a bit anal about these things, and don't like it when one record is a superset of another record, so rule that because it had a break it makes it a non-consecutive show, and is disqualified from the consecutive record. That's what Norris McWhirter said, so it must be true.

Well yes. I dont think its being that anal about it. Is Doctor Who a consecutively running series? No. So it cant be the longest consecutively running sci fi. It was, but then it had a break, so now it isnt. If you start taking subsets for the records it all gets a bit silly ('ooh, but when X Files' last episode aired, that was the longest running, so it should get "Longest running at the point the program stopped airing" record!')FatherJack wrote:Surely it ran consecutively from 1963 to 1989, non-consecutively from 1963 to 2006+?

I've seen the start of the first series of that, didn't like having to get to know all the new characters at first, but at least it looks as though they spent proper money on it.nunoncastors wrote:Ark of Truth = Fail. The other straight to DVD film isn't too bad though.
But yeah, you've not missed much over the last few seasons. Atlantis is quite fun though.
