Painkiller

Well, going out on a limb from yahtzee's review i bought it for a fiver off ebay (yeah i know, actual hard copy, odd eh.) It came in the old school big-ass case containing 3 cd-roms to install with (the game is about 3gb in total)

After installing, it came out with a nice error and wouldn't load. So after consulting the interbutts i gave it a rather nice patching and in 10 mins it was ready to go.

Graphics are okay for a 2004 game and it's quite fun to play, nothing ground breaking, but similar to stuff like serious sam etc. I'm pretty sure there's some sort of plot in there too.

Worth a fiver, i think you can download it off steam for about that at the moment... there's also a demo floating about too i believe.

I have yet to have a go at it's multiplayer thingy.

:ahoy:

[edit] -Maybe this should be in reviews... Maybe not.

I quite liked it as a stupid angry metal big guns versus a shit ton of enemies shooter, don't get much old school feel run and gun stuff any more.

It reminded me of rise of the triad.

One of my faves, though the end of level bosses tend to take the piss on the difficulty levels.
Tarrot cards are a nice touch, but rarely earned and rarely used.

Last level is a whore, and I refuse to play it again.
The patch adds a good three or four extra weapons that the failed expansion pack added, and they're great fun to piss around with.

If you get bored, look up the cheats and bind them to keyboard keys for much hilarity.
PKSlomo is definitely one to play around with.

Nope, 'fraid not. I have played an awful lot of old games though.

Wireframe vector graphics ftw. I only ever played star glider 2 in 1991 at the tender age of 7. Think that was on an amiga 2000, possibly a 3000.

Ah, memories.

Edit
I'd like to think I sound less like a tart and spout less memes now..
But I probably don't :( Sad.

If it's any consolation, everybody thinks he sounds like a right idiot when he/she hears him/herself. I really hate the sound of my voice, too.
