They're copying the Miis, only decided that they need to be shinier because they're on the xbox, and so somehow miss the point of Miis in that they're very simplistic. I think that the current dashboard is nice and straight-forward, and community stuff like this should maybe be an option you can access from it, rather than a complete replacement.
