MySims inexplicably coming to PC

So, see if you can wrap your brain around this one. In the fall of 2007, EA released a boiled-down version of The Sims on Wii and DS called MySims, which went on to sell 1.5 hojillion copies. Now, perhaps looking to push it to the 2 hojillion mark, EA announced today that on October 27 of this year MySims will be coming to the PC ... so, does that make it a "boiled-up" version?
Yes, to be fair, the PC will be getting some new characters and new online features like the ability to play Tag and share your creations with friends. But you know what else the PC will be getting at some point? Sims 3. Just saying.Read | Permalink | Email this | Comments

Unfortunately, sales figures say otherwise. Whilst people buy them, EA will make them. And although they have no appeal to gamers like the average 5punker, they still have massive appeal to squagillions of other non-average-gamer people.buzzmong wrote:Fuck off EA, just fuck off, no-one wants your fucking sims games anymore. FUCK OFF!!! AARRGGGGHHHHHHHHH!
Just out of interest, why do people get so passionately anti-Sims? So you don't like the game? Don't play it then. Why do people act like EA are not only making lots of Sims games, but are coming around to our house and forcing us to play the things at gun point?

I don't take offense to the fact they produce them and sell them, I do however dispair at the constant slight modifications of the original concept (and game) which they then claim as a new product and pedal to the masses.Joose wrote:

I also get annoyed at the masses for accepting such dross (see the movie thread about Wanted for similar views just of a different industry).
I know it's their bread and butter sales, but honestly, I don't give a fucking shit about the Sims getting news articles, and I'd rather see EA invest in some new IP, they've got the dosh after all.
Why bother when what they have sells so much? It's good business thinking to churn out this shit. It's unfortunate and it crushes originality, but it's just how it is.buzzmong wrote:I'd rather see EA invest in some new IP, they've got the dosh after all.
Only option to save computer gaming: Overthrow the government and replace society with something less capitalistic. Let's see how that goes :D
