Unless Frank's shop has a Riot Shield I can buy right now, I am ready to go.

It'd be kinda like the dad in 28 Days Later in the stairway where Jim & Selena first see him. Holding off the Ghouls with a Riot Shield...

If I had a shield I'd probably be biting it and frothing at the mouth.

As long as I've picked up some grenades then I'm good to go (too tired to read back to check if I got some or not).

Bah, just as it gets to the build up I'm going into sporadic reply mode.

I'll have to find an internet cafe or similar.

So I'll put on my full combat armour, PPP vitals protector and webbing. Already got my machete strapped on, put my pistol holster on with pistol in, put my other pistol into my arm holster (I may have had this on already can't remember) knives in boot and belt buckle, shotgun on sling, ammo belts on and a backpack with the various bits and pieces for my bombing run, bomber tools, explosive foam, chisel for door smashing too. I'll leave the rifle, not much call for long range death. Most important of all, few more packets of red apples, can't fight without a tab on the go!

Good job I'm a sturdy bastard. Doc wagon card and fake licences in wallet, saviour nano-hive is fully stocked.

I'll put the big device back in the carry all that Pastukhov supplied and my bag and that can go into the boot of the car we're taking.
Frank wrote:Anyone willing to put that in their boot? It's perfectly safe until armed unless we get hit by a missile or heavy gunfire, but it doesn't really matter then does it! My bags got some stuff in too, but again we're not in an danger of it going off, you probably knew that, but it's best to be sure.

Right, since no one seems to be doing anything, Leland starts heading to the front door of the complex. As he does, he decides to cast Detect Enemies horse 3 and put that on the Sustaining Focus.

Detect Enemies F3 (DV: 2)
Magic + Spellcasting (12 dice): 5 hits

Logic + Willpower (9 dice): also 5 hits (bloody hell) no drain.

I'll keep that active throughout unless everything in there besides us is dead.

I'll follow suit.
Al wrote:If you don't mind, guys, I'll be making myself pretty inconspicuous from now on. Don't get me wrong, I'll be of what use I can, but don't expect any heroic charges.
Check my chambers again, slap on my respirator, put up my collar and head onwards.

DING DING DING! We have a winner!

Theres something in the first floor that hates you and wants you to die. Thats as much as you can get though, theres something weird about it.

EDIT: I say first, I mean ground floor. Obviously, as there is no first floor.

He must have had a good resistance roll for that to be all the information, lol.

And now is the time I wish for my SLA motion detector/radar/internal fax.

well screw it, I don't want to wait for roman and pete to post, so I'll go on ahead and enter the open office area on the left from the entrance (the one on the bottom part of the map). I shall look for anything that looks like it could be useful or expensive, or looks like it wants to kill me.

Up to you guys, we can wait for Pete to get back if you want.

In the meantime however...

As you make your way across the reception area towards the office, you hear two voices coming from the opposite office. The first sounds like a very nervous kid, a boy, very young. Like only just properly talking young.
young kid wrote:Mommy? Mommy? Is that you Mommy?
then the other voice picks up. This voice seems to be of an adult, and is very gruff. It seems to be replying to the kid's voice.
older voice wrote:Do you want some caaandy?
and then theres silence.

I think I shall find a safe (well, as safe as could be had in here) corner to hide my body in and project astrally to investigate the voices. I got 3 hits on an Assensing + Charisma test.

Astral space around here is a little messy, but now you are actually in it, its just like walking through a light fog. A light fog made of horrible feelings, but kind of watered down. Its wierd, and not nice, but not in a way that should affect you in any way; its kinda like the astral equivilent of walking ankle deep in sewage. Through your assensing you gather that its the fallout of some rather nasty, but non magical activity thats been going on around here. Most of the worst of it seems to have happened a failr while ago.
You get into Astral without incident, and make your way across to the other office. A note here about astral projecting which im not sure ive mentioned before: you can walk (and indeed, see) through man made stuff when in astral space, but the earth is solid. Its why quite a lot of secure stuff (like this place) is underground.
When you get over to the other office, you cant see anything. I don't mean you go blind or anything, theres just nothing there to see. You get the feeling there *was* a moment ago, but its not here now.
