When's the Pyro update? When's the Pyro update? When's the Pyro update? Okay, okay, we'll tell you. It's Thursday! (19th). When's Meet The Sniper released? When's Meet The Sniper released? When's Meet The Sniper released? TUESDAY! (At 11am PDT/7pm GMT, to be specific).

This will lead into another of Valve's free Team Fortress 2 weekends, so even the most unsure can check out the Pyro's three unlockable weapons and 35 new achievements (if they play fast enough). Also in the update are two user-created TF2 maps, which Valve say is to, "highlight the great work being done in the community and distribute those works to all TF2 players."

A good time to play as the other classes.

I'm unduly excited by this. There's few things make me chuckle more than watching people scatter when I turn up on a cap point and start setting them on fire. ^_^

Yey I  pyro. I've not got any medic unlocks as I can't stand healing useless cocks that don't shoot the enemy.

The sniper class I've never liked as the one-shot-kill seems to defy the feel of TF2, lets hope the unlocks aren't the actual sniper weapon.

The two classes that get the unlocks first are probably my two favourite, last I played. Which is a bit annoying when most people choose them because of these unlocks, forcing me out. Maybe I can go back to my original favourite, the engineer.

I'm a big fan of the engineer too, got me fuckloads of kills (as Hehulk can confirm one match he was on the receiving end of some of them) and also got me my longest life of 13 minutes and 37 seconds :thrust:

I love playing engineer as well, but a lot of the time being an engineer is just a waste of time. :( When you spend all of your time rebuilding the same sentry gun over and over it stops being fun.

I enjoy TeeF when I play, but lots of other games seem to distract me from it, maybe when all the classes are finished I'll have a marathon session of unlocking everything. Or maybe I'll just not play it at all. I think the second one is more likely.

I share the sentiment - Medic and Pyro were my faves from TFC, and probably the least played by other players - but I would feel like a stat-padder if I selected them now.

I think this drip-feed approach is wrong and is putting a lot of people off the game, as their class choice is determined by whether they always/never select the upgraded classes, rather than what the tactial situation demands.

:above: Has completely put me off.

if all the classes were upgraded at the same time, I'd've kept playing.

The pyro unloacks are:

The backburner (+50 health and instant crit if attacked from behind)

Flare gun (replacement for shotgun sets enemies on fire at a distance)

Axetinguisher (Instant crit when enemy is on fire)

And the normal flamethrower will be able to release a burst of gas with alt fire which can deflect projectiles.

Sounds nice.

I've played Fastlane and it's pretty good BTW. Turbine is OK, but rather simplistic.

Turbine is like 2fort, if you want to have fun, you'll need to think outside the box
