If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

New 19" LCD Time GO

Post by buzzmong »

Right, after a 19" LCD monitor for my home use to replace my 19" CRT.

Currently looking at these:

Iiyama 19"

Asus 19"

With the Iiyama a better bet in my opinion and worth the extra 30.

I should mention I've only really got a budget of around 180-190 for this, but any other suggestions would be nice.

As I suspect someone will ask: 19" because I happen to like the size, not too big that you have move your head to look around the screen, and it's not small either, but I'd just stretch to 20 if it was a very good value for money while not compromising quality.

Suggestions?

Thanks chaps.

Inputs?
USB hubs etc?

I personally like the cheapy dell lcds, 2009WFP and the like, very basic, but heavy. (Heavy is good, heavy is reliable. If it doesn't work you can always hit them with it.)

Inputs are neither here or there, I can do DVI and the standard old style 15pin leads.

USB? Eh, it's a monitor it displays shit :)

I'll have a gander at the dells.

I say get biggar than a 19". If you replace the crt you'll suddenly have loads of desk space that you wish you'd filled up. 40-50 more quids will see you with a 22" that has dvi.

I have 24 inches. If you can afford it, 24 inches is where it's at.

24" is good, with a 20" secondary for movies and IM clients.
