The State of 5punkorp

Post by centerededgedesign »

While it's current members are not posting that regularly on here, the corp is actually doing very well, (imho).

We've recruited a good batch of new peeps that are having fun and reaching some ship goals, we've had quite a few people return to 'the 5punky 5tuff', and we've joined an alliance much like 5punkorp, pretty relaxed, but with some capabilities, and access to 0.0 stations.

After many personal discussions with members, corp evemails, and counting votes, I have the following announcements to make about our future:

5punkorp is going to head toward capital production!

Notice I didn't just state we would 'build capitals'. That's not something we're ready for or able to do profitably yet. What we can do at this point is get ready for it though. Which brings me to my next announcement.

5punkorp will instill a 13.37% tax rate. Upon a weeklong vote, the average rate that members voted for came in at 13.33333333% Being of b37a heritage though, I couldn't resist the leet pun.

5punkorp will also have bi-monthly ops to raise isk/mins for the efforts of ship building/bpo purchasing. It will take time and isk to become proven capital producers, as well as a shite-load of minerals. Luckily we have a great place within empire to mine, right next to our HQ.

Some other changes that have come to 5punkorp recently, for those that haven't logged in for a bit:

5punkorp is buying all mins from it's members at very competitive prices to the region. Our members can now 'make a living' selling their mins to 5punkorp. This applies to salvage bits as well, although due to the volatility of pricing on these, I do require some loot (T1 bits) so that the corp doesn't go broke buying tons of the low end salvage bits that aren't easily resellable. Currently the corp builds T1 ships and rigs for sale on the general market.

So if you like what you hear, hop over to Goram and reapply. The corp has plenty of seats left, we're near 30, and we can have up to 100! We're still the 5punkorp of old, with a wide mix of players, from miners, to builders, to missioners and ninja salvagers. We've even had a trader do some corp work recently and made profits for himself and the corp.

Current plans:

Recruit to keep the talent pool full and deepen it for proper swimming.

Buy our first capital bpo and get it researched up.

Keep mining/missioning/ratting/looting/trading/dying/building/mining/exploring as we do as 5punkorp!
Rinse and repeat!

:likesitall: Keep up the good work. Needs more PvP though, otherwise you'll be stuck mining in empire forever (unless ofc that's what you want, in which case ignore me).

Aye, needs more pvp, you're right. We've had issue with a can flipper, and I may not be successful in recruiting him. Rab's is going to lead a training event toward that goal though, and hopefully incorporate Rick Taxi, a somewhat seasoned pilot that's joined recently.

In other news. 5punk was hit by a thief yesterday, that cleaned out the loot hangar, melted it for 60 mil in profits, then mailed the corp to brag of their deed. Caused much panic, the booting of said twat, and 2oo mil in player donations to 5punkorp. Awfully 5punky that the corp made isk on the theft of a bunch of donated items! The corps vast mineral holdings, bpo's, salvage stockpile, T2 stores, and ships were completely intact though, hopefully proving my new system for the hangar accesses isn't flawed anywhere.

As a result though, I'm going to tweak the hangars just a bit, and make a 'beginning acces' hangar that's a bit less robust for the peeps that have 'just joined', as this pilot had, and have the regular sorted loot hangar be accessible only after a breaking in period. We might even toss a few frigs in there, not like they'll cost much, and they help the 'new' pilot out alot.

If his CEO cares much, he'll call me before he accepts the app, but I'm gonna bet he gets biomassed. iirc, he was a new toon and feined inexperience fairly well.

Well, so much for that alliance.

5punkorp got booted from our alliance because the alliance leader got mad and booted two of the corps, which pretty much killed the alliance. Then he decided to 'do something else with it with just his buddies' and since 5punk wasn't that into PVP, booted us.

Oh well. One of the corps he was pissed at and booted is VERY much into moon mining, advanced materials, and T2 production. They want 5punkorp to build caps for them, and have said they will fund us for bpo's. Since they have a full set of every bpo up to cap, (they say, no proof, but a full set of BS bpo's?!?! WOW), we might sell our BS BPO's and spend the isk on cap ones instead. We'll change course just a bit from freighters to whatever the alliance is going to want more, carriers or dreads for defending our POS assets, as well as taking out other pos's for moons they want to have.

Nobody has said anything about 5punk having to join in POS building, so we'll happily build big honking ships and stay out of that if possible, while mining and doing all that 5punky stuff we like to do. Kinda waiting to see what the rank and file have to say as well, but in the mean time also talking with allies about the future.

Good job on the corp m8! Good your still fighting strong on the corp to stay alive.

I have worked out that my daily mining is doing good! My average intake of minerals is about 8-10 mil in trit alone! I will make an effort on Improving my Haulers with rigs and once i have done that I should have no problem shipping all the minerals to you.

With my Corp i am improving all ships to do its best work. Also End of this week I have a week off so that means I be mining all day and build up the stock. I could do two things supply the minerals on weekly bases or a Large Deliver of minerals on monthly bases. If you need a monthly delivery tho i need to have a freighter pilot to collect the stock.

So atm I have 3 interion V with one with 2 rigs and i hoping to have all with Rigs on Empire use only. I will try my best from the begining of the month to support and work close with 5punkorp.

Anyhow I hope you find a better Alliance that support there Industry!

One step accomplished! Many many more to go, but we're marching in the right direction!

Membership is somewhat low, partially due to the release of Factional Warfare and the summer months of biking season, compared w/ the relatively thinner layers that the females of the species wear at this time of year, combining for a cumulative effect of about 5 semi-regular player types. Tax money keeps trickling in, and sell and buy orders ticking over though, so progress is being made.

Our first BPO was the capital cargo bay for freighters and Rorq's. This also translates to being a component of jump freighters, so should be able to sell a couple, even more if we can find a regular client.

The next BPO will be another for freighters, rinse and repeat until we need to buy the freighter BPO's themselves. If we don't have a regular contract for components by that point, we'll buy freighter BPO's and build them for use/sale, then head toward the components for carriers, the carrier BPO's, Dread components (the few left), and dreads. Perhaps the Rorqual will jump into line, depending on sales/profits, and if we need one for ourselves.

Need some new members, but have some prospects in the works.
