Mining leveling guide - http://wow.thenoobschool.com/power-leve ... uide-1-375
It'd be boring following it just to lvl but it gives you an idea of some good places to look, if you happen to be in those zones.
I'm finding it fairly easy to lvl mining myself. There seems to be a certain amount of common sense in where the nodes are located, ie. the rock areas like Thousand Needles seem to be rich, also caves. And doing quests in these areas yields some nice ores as you wander.

Hopefully it'll get easier for me in another 10 levels then.spoodie wrote:I'm finding it fairly easy to lvl mining myself. For some reason* it shows the yellow value - ie the level at which it goes from orange to yellow and you get less XP. The left column shows 130, 155, 180 - which I assume are the earliest level, the yellow level and either the green or grey level.Dog Pants wrote:Hmmm, there's something not quite right about that Thottbot page. I'm 145 but it reckons the silver plated shotgun is 160, and I can definately make that.
There are some good plugins around which help gathering professions, as the spawn spots of things like ore and flowers tend to be in the same places. I see a lot of silver deposits in the caves, but that might be because I don't really notice them in the open.
It's probably there to prevent farming, but it's kind of annoying that you have to level up you character in order to progress your profession - in other games like Final Fantasy XI and LoTRO it's possible to make a living and become a master in your craft without ever leaving the start areas, which I kind of liked for a change of pace.
*Probably as they don't have reliable data on orange.

Given that I'll be spending 5 hours on a train with free wireless today, I was wishing I had a laptop that runs Colon to pass the time. As it is, it won't run CoX or Morrowind (first one at all, latter is unplayable), I think I'll just be sticking with the PSP for now. Certainly the more portable option!
On the cusp of doing so, mainly since Eve is at a stage both politically (too many superpowers) and economically (I'm rich enough it's no longer a challenge) that I need to take a break for a while. I'm actually really enjoying the end game in WoW atm tho, and will probably wait for Conaids to mature a bit before jumping in.Lateralus wrote:Join us Friz, joooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooin us!

I conker. There's also flat spots at late 30's, mid 40's, 50-60 and apparently around 65 too. The grind on some is easy but some of them have you fedexing across entire maps, and with a travel system that needs serious fixing it's a bit of a 'mare.Dog Pants wrote:Not such a bad idea, it's still very buggy at the moment.
Still, I reckon I'll have my 1st lvl 80 by the time my first month runs out.

For everyone's reference, Soncho's Pantry stocks all your cooking needs - fish, more Zesty Clam Meat than the combined output of every restaurant in Booty Bay, and various bits of other animals.
So if anyone's trying to level cooking give me a shout, 'cos it's taking up most of my bank (and starting to smell).
