what happened then and was there a full spread in Heat magazine about it?

that cable reminds me of a question a project manager asked me the other day: "RJ45, do we use that at all?"

No, didn't notice. It had an updated thread icon on it for some reason. That, plus Lanimel has been on today- see the Active Users bit on the forum index.

tis true about the wireless networking thing. Its a cupcake.
Tommorow i am off to purchase a really cocking huge network cable, and piss my housmates off by nailing the thing to the wall :D

Curiously, though, Ive been having decent ping and shitloads of lag AT THE SAME TIME!

thats probably caus the ping is measured to your router? therefore its as quick as your broadband. but your wireless might be causing the lag.
Use a cable deffo!!!!

the ping is measured from the client machine to the server.

the reason why it can look fine on wireless connections is that it's a small intermittent burst packet separated from a constant stream of data that is your gaming.

wireless handles bursts better than streams and thusly your ping is fine but your game is shite.
