5punkorps new ranks and hangar accesses

Post by centerededgedesign »

You may have noticed already, but 5punkorp has changed a bit. Titles, the hangars, the wallet divisions, are all named and arranged differently than before. Well, it is for a reason, please bear with me as I explain that reason below:

Titles:

Titles are designed to do two things, display your rank and specialties, and gain you access to hangars.

There are two hangars that everyone has access to, the basic T1 modules/ammo hangar, and the trading/locked member cans hangar. The rest of the hangars are for corp purposes, such as mining, production, and storing pvp ships so that certain ranks of members can access them to supply corp insured ships to gangs for pvp. These are the frigs and cruisers hangars.

The secure section isn't overly well used yet, but I'm saving it for director types and locked bpo's at this time. As we grow it may gain other uses, but for the time being it will be left as is.

The ranks are fairly simple, they are Enlisted 1-4, and two officer ranks O4 and O5. The only designation differences between the ranks are hangar accesses, and that officers are those that can use leadership bonuses to amplify the fleet's capabilities. An example would be Fabulousdancingyak's mining bonuses.

The ranks are:
5punker(E1): basic pilot of 5punkorp, gets basic hangar rights.
Lance 5punker(E2): basic pilot, can access frigs hangar to hand out ships for pvp.
5punketeer(E3): Lance 5punker that can pilot a cruiser when part of larger ops directed by a 5punk 5eargent or 5punky
5punk 5eargent(E4): 5punketeer w/ rights to the cruiser hangar
5punky(O4): 5punk 5eargent rank, but can dish out bonuses
5taff 5punker (E5): Able to lead large fleets, access to cruisers, given a BC or BS and insurance by the corp.
5punkmeister (O5): 5taff 5punker that can dish out bonuses.

That is all of the ranks, however other titles dictate specialties and grant other hangar and wallet accesses.

5punk Miner: gains access to the ore hangar and can access bits there, or ships.

5punk builder: gains access to the mineals/bpo hangar and rights to rent production slots. Must have specific levels of skills.

Hauler: gains view access to the Ore and Mineral/BPO hangars so they can deposit bits there once hauled.

5punk Trader: gains view access to Mineral/BPO hangars, and access to the trade portion of the 5punk wallet, and rights to trade for the corp.

Quarter5punker: Operational job for providing goods to the pilots. Gains special hangar/wallet/and trade accesses for providing pvp support.

5pecialist: role that designates that special and/or secret access has been provided seperate of accesses given by titles.

Mi55ioner: pilot tasked with attaining status/ranking with a faction. Can also help pilots attain individual status by ganging with them while doing missions. Provides discounts on faction items and implants purchased through the LP store.

5alvager: pilot that salvages wrecks and sells the resulting rig components to the corp. Required to give the loot (not rig components) to the corp to stock hangars.

5taff coordinator: special role that allows a member to approve applications for new members.

Each pilot will only hold one rank, and whichever specialty that they choose to do while in Eve. With these we should not need to place taxes upon activities to fund expansion within the corp, since many activities benefit the corp and the pilots at the same time. Examples are miners, the corp buys your minerals, providing you with income, and the corp with minerals. 5alvagers get the income from the rig components without having to fly all over known space to sell it, and keep the corp stocked in everyday bits and ammo (does not apply to T2 bits or faction items!).
However, the corp will maintain the .5% tax rate it currently has to track experience and activity levels. If you should want a tax refund, please let me know.

Now, hopefully you're wondering about ranks, because I'm going to tell you about them and their purpose.

Ranks are to provide structure and promote activity and participation. If we all ran around at the same rank, there wouldn't be much incentive to try harder and volunteer for more challenging bits within the game. Mostly it has to do with organizational skills (getting people to work well together) and accountability.

Bumteam: Consists of 2-4 5punkers and a Lance 5punker. In a group this large, a Lance 5punker has the authority and access to get corp insure frigs out of the frig hangar, and distribute them to pilots for use on an operation. Whether this operation is pvp, guarding miners, or scouting, the ships will be provided and insured by the corp, so if they're lost, the pilots lose nothing. Each individual pilot can return their ship to the frig hangar after the op.

Bums5quad: Consists of 2 ore more bumteams, and a 5punketeer. Again, frigs for all on the corp. 5punketeer is in charge.

Bumming ParTay: 4 Bum5quads, and a 5punky or 5punk5eargent. The 5punky and 5punk5eargent have access to the cruiser hangar to hand out cruisers to 5punketeers and above. The 5punky or 5punk5eargent is in charge.

Bumming Frenzy: 4 bumming ParTays, and a 5punk5eargent or 5punkmeister. VERY large group with BS/BC support. Able to kill ALOT.

So, basically the higher ranks have access to larger ships to support the operation with. Do not think that a large group of frigs is in any way weak. Frig gangs can be very dangerous! Don't forget that there are many types of frigates, and working together they can wreak deadly havoc on larger foes!

Lance 5punker (E1)
5punker (E2)
That would make sense, but when people join 5punkorp, they (generally) get overwhelmed and devestated by the sheer amount of information and possible career paths and feel like they're taking a step backward, hence the adding of Lance to the rank of somebody that's been a 5punker for a bit.

Oh, and once you've 5punked for a bit, you do generally get referred to as "a 5punker w/ a lance in their pocket".

:)
