Occasionally when I start eve it'll crash after the splash screen before I get to the log on and my computer will restart. Lee says the same thing has happened to him a couple of times but I've never had a problem with it until last week, and it's done it about 4 times since then.
Is this a known issue, because it's starting to annoy me.
Try running Eve windowed, or at least the same resolution as the desktop (the old engine and only one I have a bit of experience with used to be picky about that)
There have been several reported issues of weird behaviour on 8800's, Fista and the premium graphics. It works fine on my main machine (XP) but my laptop hates it and has to run old style Eve.
well if i remember correctly didn't CCP delete our boot.ini files a while back. not saying this is tin foil hat time but just in case /em puts Tin Foil Maximus hat on.
I had this problem! tho i found this in EVE-o someone posted. I installed this http://www.omegadrivers.net/ and ever since then i haven't crashed! I haven't tried it with sound on yet but looks like it solved the problem i had on rebooting.
