Sounds like I need a new headset judging by me having to tap one side when the sound cuts out.
Time for 5.1 I reckon.

After going through a million headsets which all resulted in pain after 15 mins use I finally found these.
No chance of pain and decent sound and mic quality. You'll probably need to buy two 3.5mm jack extension cables for it though, the cable is designed for laptops so is very short.

*ZAP* thread revive!
i just bought these;
http://www.sennheisercommunications.com ... root/05351
so far they're pretty good, but i find that the sound could've been a bit better for something that cost me around £55, the mic, however, is pretty good and you can rest it in an upward position, making it look a bit like you have an antenna on your headphones. for some reason i like that. They are, however, an improvement on my BEEF headphones, wich weren't that bad now that i look back on them.

They look good. Can you wear them with the band behind, rather than over your head?
I bought these for Skype/TS stuff at work, but I haven't been that impressed.
The sound is really good, but the mic is fixed in position - it unplugs completely, but you can't swivel it out of the way. They have to go over your head, too which I don't find that comfortable.
I kinda prefer these, which are my cheapy home ones, but the sound isn't good, they get uncomfortable after long periods and the volume control/mute switch is starting to break - they are nice and light though and since they were cheap I don't mind throwing them around at bit/dumping them on the table when I go to get more beer.
