Actually, methinks it's the processor has partially melted, as it does boot if chilled first, but freezes up after a few moments of normal operation, i.e. about as long as it takes to get to the splash screen that says i need to update my Eve client. I'm about half tempted to spend $200 to have it checked to see if it can be repaired, but that's nearly 1/8th of the cost of a new one that would run it in uber mode, and may or may not fix it. That, coupled with the complete lack of $200 to even try that option keeps me playing old PS2 games to keep my melon from imploding to excess exposure to feminity.

Thanks much for the thought though! If I do find out what the processor is, could you lose one?

For those who don't play anymore but are still vaguely interested:

eRabbit joined Traveyb ('this will always be my main' aka JimmySav aka the Charity Kid) in Hobos, who are in Insurgency, whilst BSI (Hehulk's corp) was overseeing the collapse of Cult of War alliance. BSI then joined Insurgency anyway, but wabbit think Hehulk smells and can't be arsed to move all his shit again anyway. I've toddled off to MC to get bored and lagged to fuck, lost my internet connection and played KOTOR2 all week. Dres is in limbo awaiting the arrival of a slightly dillapidated second hand laptop before he attempts to reinvigorate 5punkorp. Jack Slaide aka Morrill aka God-Knows-Who-Alt has joined BSI as well, despite playing almost as erratically as Fea (known as Dave, after his grandmother, or Hamblin, after Dave), who has sold his carrier so he could buy a cerberus and sit in station playing spinny camera with it once a month. And CCP patched the game and fucked it up for everyone. Again.

As it's now hit CAOD, I think I'm safe to talk about it.

Last night after a weeks heads up, insurgency steam rolled it's way into into D4R and EQI, two of the three station systems in the KWCZ-A constellation. In the space of 4 hours, our 250 man fleet (Aprox 150 BS, 80 caps) sieged the crap out of D4R, realised we stil had hours left in the majority of the fleet, refueled the caps, and sieged the fuck outa EQI. I wasn't keep score properly, but I think we reinforced 9 towers (It was every tower holding those two systems), 2 of which were dread gurista larges with fucktons of hardeners. That took us to about 2300 eve time.

0200 rolls around, dread/BS fleet decends again (We were down to 80 in fleet at this point, 30 of em caps) on the first tower to drop out of reinforced, 15 minutes later pretty explosions happen, then someone gets the bright idea to rep up and knick the jump bridge on this POS that we incapacitated earler so 2 hours with the rep bots passes, it unanchors and I fuck off to bed, it being 0430.

Today everyones just chilling, feeling smug about what our little unimportant alliance (according to the guys we're sieging) achieved last night and wondering if the north is going to bring it, or just cave it. Personially, I'd love to get a shot at those MM titans :)

Ta for the update, things make more sense now.

Who is Insurgency attacking, you name systems but I don't know where or who owns them, is it MM?

It's phoenix allianz we're sieging atm, stelar polar owned QCWA before we took it (If you know either of those alliances, your doing better than every recruit I've interviewed in the last 3 weeks)

Further more, rumours abound that MM are gona bring it tonight :excited:

Last night was a bizare kind of awesome. Around 1800 we start getting intel that MM really are forming up (We'd heard they were going to all day, but I'm beginging to lose count of the amount of times I've heard that). Darth gets on, shouting insues because no-ones set up a death star in D4R, then we swap to plan B.

BS fleet lead by me quickly nips of to Q-4 to kill a small pos that had just droped out of reinforced. 10 minutes of broadside and it's down, so we haul ass back to EQI 3J away because there's reports starting to come in of 180 hostiles hiding out in BKG (that's 6J from Q-4, 5 from EQI). Assorted hostiles form up in 4DT, we run a couple of gangs to break people into EQI so they can fight and finally at about 1900 the MM gang reaches 4DT, locking down the system and blocking the way for any more who don't have jump drives (4DT is a choke point to the constellation)

Our fleet keeps forming up, and eventually we have 180 in gang out of 220 odd in alliance. At some point between this and us taking out that POS someones made sniper BMs and set-up large bubbles on the 4DT and D4R gate. We distribute these though a series of fleet warps and then form up re-group inside one of our deathstars in EQI to wait for orders.

2000 rolls around, MM are still camping 4DT. 2100 rolls over, we're still waiting for them to jump (They had 300 in 4DT at this point vs our 180 in EQI). Eventually intel comes back, MM are warping off the gate (all their BS had been sitting at a sniper point) and Darth pipes up, get ready lads, this could be it. Sadly, it wasn't. MM left. Much disapointment insues.

Night rolls on, more POS drop out of reinforced and we kill 5 before I hit the sack around 0200. More POS comming out tonight/early hours tommorow, so really, if MM want to stop us and save phoenix, it's going to have to be tonight. We've already nuked sov in 2 out of the 6 systems in the constellation, so if we get those POS comming out in the next 18 hours, they lose sov on two more systems including 2 outpost systems (EQI and D4R) after tommorow DT which'll contest their constellation sov.

Of course, we'd love MM to turn up again and engage tonight. Last night might look like failure on their part, especially because they'd had cynos up so their cap fleet was in the area, but we don't know what they were trying to achieve with the fleet so I won't go that far.

Slight correction Hulky, they had around 300 earlier but in 4DT they only had roughly equal numbers to us.

And that's it. 3 days of siege later, we've knocked out every single POS in EQI and D4R and enough POS in the rest of the constellation that post DT, sov in two of the three outpost systems wil fall and constellation sov will go into contested.

Roll on next wednesday when I've recovered from celebrating my 21st 8)

Not saying Phal can't turn this around, but it's take something more than we've seen from them thus far, and right now with all the firesales going on, I wouldn't bet on it...

Resurrection!!!!

Due to the extreme measures taken by Friz, I am once again able to play w/ you lot! I even logged on last night and changed skills! (ok, nothing too dramatic, but it was wifey's birthday, just getting on at all was a huge thing to know all the technical bits like power and internet connection would work!)

I've even worked the lack of Dres being active in 5punkorp into my tale I'm spinning. He was clone-napped by angry pirates, placed into a pod w/ disabled comms, and forced to train pirates to mine in 0.0 to help them build a capital. Unfortunately, I trained them to mine high ends, leaving them lacking on the trit/pye, and eventually convinced them of my loyalty to fly a load of Zyd to market for them. That's when I managed to get in touch w/ a loading dock employee that was able to free me from the defunct pod, and I returned to 5punkorp to rejuvenate it. For the peeps that have left to other corps, that fits into the story pretty well, since it's basically a tale of how factional warfare broke out in Eve, as seen through the eyes of 5punkorp, which only works because we've spread out some.
