The Worlds of Fantasy
Beardy types and general fantasy fans might enjoy this:

If you're not into fantasy at least check out Terry Pratchett's monitor setup at 3:20mins. Not the most amazing but impressive for an old bloke.

I really enjoyed the Gormenghast mini-series from a few years ago. It inspired me to get the books but they were just too long and wordy for me to deal with.Sheriff Fatman wrote:Good call. I watched the one last week on Tolkien and Mervyn Peake. Rather good, I've added Gormenghast to my book list as a result.

I love his books but in person Pratchett is a cock. I met him at a book signing a few years ago and got him to sign a copy of jingo, he was so full of himself and full of disdain for the people around him. The very people who read his books and made him his fortune and I couldn't help but dislike him because of his attitude.
It may just have been he was in a bad mood for whatever reason, or that he was suffering under the god complex because of all the uber beardy fans around him, but given it was a special signing in a pub that his own friend owned and not a lengthy tour he could easily have been less of a self-righteous dick for that one afternoon/night.

Fucking this! I went right off his books after meeting him. Egotistical cock piece that he is.
Never meet your heroes as they say.

Colour me interested!FatherJack wrote:Panic over. It's free on Sky Anytime, which my Dad let me subscribe to with his details. I also recorded it on DVD at his house (and will again tomorrow) so I could maybe host it if there's any interest.
I want to see this because I love Discworld, but was disappointed by the version of the Hogfather they did - the few attempts at humour were way off the mark from what they should have been. David Jason wasn't quite right for it, and I can't see him as a Rincewind earlier. Me and Roman were chatting about this and the only suggestion for an alternative Rincewind was Hugh Laurie. Who else could have been cast?
The press red thing? Either press backup or the big sky button up the top of the remote. Failing that press the red button. You know you want to.Roman Totale wrote: I have this problem with Sky. Does anyone know how to get rid of the dobbing big advert thing in the top right hand corner of the screen?
