We have discovered that you violated the User Agreement and/or Rules of Conduct by creating one or more improperly named characters. Due to the extremely inappropriate nature of the character name(s) in this case, your account has been temporarily suspended for 72 hours. In an effort to limit the interruption of your game play as much as possible, a temporary name was assigned to the character(s) listed below.
As a part of the suspension process, the Account Admin Team will also be reviewing the account for termination due to this violation. All account terminations will be notified via a follow up e-mail from our Account Admin Team.

If you wish to change the temporary name for these characters, you will need to update this support ticket with three alternate names for each changed name. The new names cannot in any way be similar to or resemble the old names. All new names must also adhere to the User Agreement.

That's a bit extreme isn't it? I wonder if they'd ban someone with the username 'Stalin' or some such? Genocidal maniac but somehow got a better press than Hitler.

I think they've been fairly lenient with some of the more outrageously er...flamboyant characters people have made.
They tend to err on the side of caution for these things, as people who conceivably might be offended, might blame the game publishers, and they might get sued.
I've used Japanese honorifics in all my character names, Kitty-chan, Kitty-sama, etc and I got a warning in WoW for Kitty-sensei as it broke the rule about having a name that "implied status or rank".
