i have a feeling he probably wont notice for a few years until games catch up with him anyway
(i mean years as in hardware advancing years, which in reality is about 2 weeks)

I think at that level it's swings and roundabouts, it'll take anything you chuck at it either way.

true, but I mean just because it doesn't matter now doesn't mean everything. I mean, if it will run next years games better for the same cost now, why not go AMD?

bah, but I am getting sidetracked! THat is indeed a monster rig you have gotten sir vowels! I wish I could get something without parts that are 3 years old...

7800 (SLi ready, and a SLi motherboard) was £450. As for the intel its my old CPU I couldnt afford ANOTHER £600 odd quid for a good AMD (ALthough I can get that later :) )

and as for money, Remember I told you that my Gran passed away not to long ago, I got left a nice £1000 and the rest was money from work :D

No, that's the price for just one of them.

What he means is that this 1 x 7800 runs better/faster than a dual setup of 6800's

Yup, Thats what I ment.

Intresting Fact of the 7800

Number of Transistors in things-

Xbox GPU:60 Million
PS2 Graphic Syn:43 Million
Althon FX 55:105.9 Million

7800:302 Million

Thats 80 million more than the 6800! and it uses less power than the 6800...... Its witchcraft I tell you!

No, that's nVidia finally learning how to engineer stuff instead of throw more power at it. Now if only the US car industry could do the same...
