Jack

Friz said it right, don't feel guilty about making a profit, it wouldn't be worth it otherwise!

btw, assuming you hold the Mega BPO, could you evemail / pm me requirements and cost to build one. I'm generating mins atm and am looking for something to do with them

Day in the life of a 5punker; Discovered today that the max I can make mining in Goram is about 5-7M/hr, which is OK I guess for the fact that it's safe as houses, but not so great that that HAC looks any closer. Thinking of taking Bomber out to an NPC station to base for some 0.0 ratting, Player rats may be a concern of course.

1) Get loan from fellow 5punker/corp
2) Buy Nano-ishtar
3) Fly on down to W9- and rat your nuts off. Sansha drop cap boosters by the bucket load, so it shouldn't be a problem.

Pay off loan, rince, repeat

What kind of HAC can you fly Bomber?

Oh and Jack, we may be able to (sporadically) provide some fuel for the tower with Ice mining looking the best bet for isk from mining in Goram

I've moved over to Ushra'Khan with Sapphrine, we're currently on downtime after coming out of a fairly intense period of fighting with CVA. For those of you who dont know, CVA and U'K have been involved in a semi-rp fight over providence for the last few years with CVA currently holding the entire region with their allies.

So basically its U'K and Star fraction verses CVA (who outnumber us 10:1), Severance (about equal), Cold Steel, Paxton, Sylph and if the going gets tough, IAC and Goonswarm.

And its great. roleplaying terrorists is comically fun, hit and run tactics, outside the box thinking, and support of some really great pilots and FCs. the best thing is that we're never short of targets... but im having a hell of a time making cash.

Was planning a similar thing but in a myrm (which I already own.) Found a syst 8J from Goram on a pipe with a NPC station and 5-6 interconnected systems off the pipe. Likely to be busy, but stats say otherwise so I'm gonna take a cov ops or inty down there to see what the dealio is

Gallente ones, so hehulk had it right with an ishtar. Actually, with the price of T2 mods these days, an ishtar isn't as far off as I like to convince myself in darker moments

on the subject of isk/hr in Goram, a mixture of calulations, testing and holding my finger in the air lead me to believe that mining veld is slightly better isk/hr than ice at about 5.5M/hr against 3.5M/hr, respectively. I have maxed skills in both but that's using a hulk, so Mak would add a bit to the ice but otherwise it's like for like (one ship mining, separate account hauling). The advantage with ice is availability. You end up spending time finding a ripe group of rocks that you can spend an hour sucking, which is no mean feat in Goram at the moment, even midweek. In that time, you could have knocked over your first 2-3 cycles of ice.

So my conclusion is that, if you want an op to mine for a few hours, scout a good belt and hit the veld. For short term (less than 2 hours, say), get to the ice field and start sucking.

6:00 Wake up, shower/shave
6:30 Leave happy home for work.
7:20 Arrive at said work and start coffee, get bowl of oatmeal and glass of ice water. (coffee is for coworkers so they don't whine as long when they do arrive).
7:30 Read 5punk Eve news, post on rare occasions.
7:40 Read news off interwebs
8:00 Start working on whatever is left over on desk from previous day.
8:30 - 9:00 coworkers arrive and I employ anti-whine/moan mental barrier
WORK
11:00 - 11:30 Lunch and read the daily comics
WORK
12:30 - 1:00 Take a walk with a pair of attractive coworkers :)
WORK
5:00 End of day. If traffic looks too bad outside, check for 5punky posts and read a bit more interweb news until it's worth trying to leave the parking lot.
5:30 Usually when I LEAVE work.
6:40 Arrive back at happy home to find dinner not started. Make dinner. Eat dinner. Clean up after dinner.
7:45 Sit down
8:00 Start Dominque bedtime process. Make her a snack, give her the nightly meds, start reminding her its almost bedtime. (If I just tell her when it's bedtime, it's like disarming a nuke by detonating it. If I start with 10 minute warnings, then 5-4-3-2-1 it's only like stepping on a landmine vs. the nuke)
8:30 Put Dominque to bed, tell her a story, back rub, lullabye.
8:50 Put her back to bed.
9:00 Cry self silently to sleep missing Eve and realizing that it will ALL HAPPEN AGAIN TOMORROW, AND THE NEXT DAY, AND THE NEXT

Hell, I miss mining in FRIGS!!!!

On the other side of the coin, career is doing well, got a new title yesterday, I'm now a 'Peer Advisor'. No more money for it, just more responsibility and a little power to affect change. Still doesn't compare to running Fw4ppers and teaching people how to play a kick-ass game with great people!

Glad to hear you're doing well Dres but ... new title with extra to do but no monies .... just .... no

I have been through that mill too many times but I know it has to be done now and again.

otoh, there's all sorts of fun that can be had with a role like "peer advisor" Lie to them -> :bagged: mess with their minds -> :wronghole: then eat their brains -> :brains: Take it from me. I know. If you're not getting paid, the least you can do is ruin someone's day.

7:30 Alarm goes off
9:00-9:30 Get up
9:30-10:00 Arrive at work
10:30 Finish procrastination/coffee making and start work*
11:30 Say "where the fuck is the lunch penguin?" on Skype
11:45 Start journey to lunch via offices for a chat
12:30 Return and eat lunch (while still work*ing)
1:00 Lunchteims! Start up a gaem like CoH, EVE, GuildWars, a Steam game (the thing in common is the ability to be installed from the network)
2:00 Reluctantly stop playing and go back to work*
3:30 Say "fucking hell, I'm bored" on Skype
5:30-6:00 Leave for Home (via Tesco/Off License)
6:30-7:00 Get home, play gaems, drink, eat
2:00 Bed

*may not contain 100% work

Last 24 hours can definatly be considered woops.

Lost Vargur, due in part to my own stupidity in low-sec (I need to be more pro-active again about probes). Best of it was the pirates were ransoming me, but while I was trying to pay the NPCs they were trying to save me from finished me off
Also, could have got out early on, as I wasn't primary, but decided we'd win. Que 1 rupture scrambling me, and a rook arriving on sceen

Went off to college in a rush this morning, didn't check eve accounts, I come back and all 3 arn't training

Oh, and coursework deadline got moved up 3 weeks. It's due 9am tommorow

I'm moved the last of the NR stuff back to empire from 1-N. I have 3 exhumers in my hangar in Cham which I don't recognise:

Absolute Krystallos (Mackinaw)
Roids ♥ Molestation (Dolly's I think, been up on contract 2 weeks already)
RAWR (Hulk)

If you can claim them I'll put them up on contract again for you to come collect. Otherwise I'll give them to people who need barges for minerating in goram.

I would make good use of a mack, and keep it shiny for its owner

I have a bunch of stuff from Mano for the corp hangar aswell, but seems that access rigths have gone funny.

On contract to you in Goram. And you need to give roles to Bomber - or accept the contract to your corp :P

Cheers!
I've given rights to bomber, although sadly it looks like all the roles have been wiped so i'll need to recreate them if that is the case :(

OK, looking at the worst case scenario which could be doing all the rights again, who needs what?

I need hangar access for Billyclub and Fatlips pls

I had wallet access too, but that was to buy fuel for a tower that we don't have anymore so I suppose that's no longer necessary, at least for the time being.

I've given Billyclub director access for the moment (I guess you can be trusted :P) so you can assign rights to fatlips too. Who's meant to be on the directors list?

Ah crap, I was fiddling around before I left to tidy things up. I may have wiped the roles then. Good news is, the roles should all be tied to titles still, so you won't need to go through individually - just assign a title and the appropriate roles will go with it.

Come to think of it, why don't we could just close NR completely and everyone go back to 5punkorp whilst noone has had roles for 24 hours?

Today is war planing day.

I have the joy of assessing which of our potential targets are likely have a high presence in empire and give good fights. Once that's done, I'm gona start looking over every bit of second rate non-NPC 0.0 and decide which would make a good proving ground for COW to go and sack. That might take me all weekend, although there's a couple of places I know pretty well I've got in mind.
