City of Heroes

It's a refreshingly focused online role-playing experience, and is an entertaining, polished game that, unlike so many others, manages to deliver on the underlying promise of an excellent concept.
Welcome to 2004!

And it's still better than most MMONGs that have been released since. Too many try to emulate wow I think.

It is a bit repetitive/grindy in places, but kinda less than other MMONGs.
it's made a lot better by 5punkers or decent teams

Yeah, it's a pity there's so little variation in the missions. It gets so much right though; completely custom appearance, sidekick system, travel skills.

I finally got my interwebs sorted. I now have a scrapper called anery protagonist who is currently level five and looks shockingly like a slightly camp shredder.
Does it have dunjuns? I like dunjuns, used to play AO which has good dunjuns.

Sort of. There's sewers and caves and Circle of Thorns have magic catacombs. Most missions are done in some manner of building though.

Cool, that sounds like the mishing in AO, they used to take place in some kind of building somewhere (shack, prizon, apartment, cave...) that you could only gain access to if you had the 'mission key' Although it was annoying to get given missions that were bloody miles away. Are there random missions you can pick up or are they all story line related?

Sort of storyline related. You do get missions from a police radio for a while later, and later still you can go back and do old missions, but for the most part it's pretty linear in that respect. You should never be short of missions though.
