You would not call a Great Dane "Tiny" would you?

Yes.

Also, dogs>cats for blind obedience and fetching stuff. Cats>dogs for being sadistic fucks and leaving animal body parts as presents.

I like the idea of a dog called Horse. Sounds like there should be a film about it.

Which has just reminded me of a bit that made me loller in Explorers (which was on TV on Christmas Eve):
Look, I know I must look weird to you but how do you think you look to me? Listen, I watched four episodes of "Lassie" before I figured out why the little hairy kid never spoke. I mean, he rolled over, sure, he did that fine but, I don't think he deserved a series for that.
That film is brilliant

Would the dog get hung by the skin of it's chest?

dunno, but it's not the breeder that makes the guideline, it's the people who keep the family tree thing (don't know all the proper terms) every year has a certain letter, and every dog has to have a different name (although alternative spelling is accepted) and can be no shorter then 3 characters and no longer then 10. wich is normal, a too long name is more difficult for the dog to comprehend, and may cause confusion when you call for it.

Oh I know what you mean, in the UK there is a kennel club name, then the real name. The kennel club name reflects the mum and dad somehow.

For example, out last dog was "Tollwood Teaser" but we named him Arthur.

Our current dog is "Qualitil Black Beauty" but we call her Jess.
