Oddly, the people on those servers were quite nice and happy. No one was getting the rage, and a guy even exchanged a "hahaha!" with me when he shot my claymore and killed himself in the blast.
There was also discussion regarding ghillie suits and the plausibility of wearing one to work.
Wow, internet people who aren't knobheads. That's a rarity. Even our server has the regulars abusing the randoms (much to my dismay), and we're supposed to be nice.

We don't abuse them much, occasional ribbing mostly, nothing like css/beef admin toys/kicking/banning that has happened in the past.
<a href="http://www.5punk.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=4201" target="_blank">Yes, we are. </a> Ribbing and a bit of pisstaking is all well and good, but I expect that unless you're on TeamSpack you won't be able to tell the difference. Having said that, it's rare there's anyone who joins a game server who gets our sense of humour anyway and those that do generally sign up.

Berk seems to dislike them. I would agree with adding occasional S&D (with low time and high score limit), Sabotage (mediocre time and score limit), and Headquarters (high time and score limit).
Hmm.. it's fine for randoms, but I still say Shada's still a jumpfag
Conker'd.
Shada wrote:With Hardcore mode you can have EITHER TDM or S&D. I don't think you can mix game modes or have multiple game modes.
Untrue, you can have any gamemode mix, it's just that maps which are good for TDM are generally good for SnD and vice versa, and being like that, most servers don't see the point to mix. There are some extremely good HQ maps (Bloc anyone?) which are campfests in TDM and also maps very good for Sabotage (Strike perhaps).
TezzRexx wrote:Yeah, perhaps we shouldn't all join one side (ala Red, or Spacknatz/OpFor) in games against randoms as it is somewhat of a clan mentality/AUTOPWN.
Although this happens more often in TEEF then COD.
Well, we're not automatically better by being a "clan". We do have the advantage of teamspeak... except... well, no we don't, as we only use it to call each other cunts and shout "WHAAAAAAT?! OH FOR FUCK'S SAKE!" :D
I don't use tags because people seem to associate them with automatic win, and I don't like that. I think that's what Berk's getting at, too - it's a lot less intimidating if we all just look like a bunch of happy randoms.
I for one feel a sense of pride in having my 5punk tag and being at the bottom end of the points, you top-half-of-the-points lot are ruining the entire 'We're not very good' 5punk ethos and should remove your tag in order to prevent shame falling on the house of 5punk, heed these words of caution lest the house of Duras overthrow us.
I've removed my tag for now, but if we're making people happy but they don't associate it with 5punk they'll never come here. However, I always avoid servers that are full of clanners (which is what we appear to be to an outsider) because they're almost universally elitist.
I also agree that we're not better because we play like a clan, we just have some good players and we play together regularly so we get to discuss tactics and stuff. Point in case; other people don't seem to use martyrdom, even on really busy maps.
With regards to mistreatment of randoms: Firstly, I'm only the forum mod, not the 5punk police, so just because I don't like it doesn't mean it's 5punk policy. I think there's a fine line between deterring idiots and putting off potential 5punkers. Berk's generally fairly accurate, believe it or not (something I've termed 'The Berk felcher'); telling an idiot they're an idiot is good, slating somebody for making a mistake or two is bad.

that's actually not a bad idea.
but as I see it, about half of us will untag, and the other half probably won't
It'll leave us with a server that looks to have 5punkers on it, but also a fair herd of randoms.
