DVD Formats.......

i got some new movies like the bourne ultamatum nd stuffff, on my hdd.

now, its pretty crappy watching a movie on a 19 inch computer monitor when i could be watching on a 32 inch lcd AND a fat sofa.

all i wanted to kno was wat format are dvd's played on dvd players nd any gd free converters so i could do this. also, does hd upscaling mean yet another different format?

though, the quality will never be better than the avi you downloaded, usually worse, it's better to download dvd ISOs if you can.

Some DVD players may also play AVIs with certain codecs, RTFM, it should be there. (Also if you're downloading from torrents'n'stuff, it usually writes the codec used.)
