Sky+ TV control
I'm having issues with my Sky+. It used to be that turning the sky+ box on also turned on the tv and switched to the scart input, but since i was messing about with my scart plug the other day after i bought a better scart cable for the wii, it doesn't do it any more. The sky remote also never turned the tv off, i don't know if this tv (a bush, not sure of the model number, but it cost £249 in sainsburys and has a built in DVD) is just not fully compatible with the sky+ remote or whether i need to use a different code

no, i probably should have explained. i have a 3 way scart block, which doesnt have any switches, it will try to play all 3 things if you turn them all on at the same time. it has the sky box the ps2 and the wii plugged into it. i recently swiched the wii composite cable for a full scart cable, and i may have moved the sky one at the same time, havent changed any settings though

It still must be something to do with scart auto switching. If your TV is on standby and you turn on your Sky box with the remote the TV detects the sky box coming on and turns on to that scart socket (Regardless of it being on a scart block with other devices which, I presume, are off)
There's no way that changing your Wii cable would stop your remote working, but it could somehow interfere with the 'on' signal being sent through the scart block to the TV.
Take out everything from the scart block except Sky plus and see if it works.

ok, had a play with it, looks like its the wii scart cable causing the problem, if i unplug that then the sky plus box comes on and switched the tv to scart, and wheni turn it off it switched it back to the PCRGB connection. have tried switching the wii and sky scart plugs round but still doesnt work like that

That!
Also, I'd assume that port one on the mulit-scart is the auto switching one, do you only possess one scart socket on the back of your tv? I've got my virgins box and my 360 plugged into my tv, and they both auto on and switch the tv to the right av channel from standby.
But I had to set it in the tv settings that av1 was the channel it turned onto when it was switched on at the button, or that setting overrode the auto switching completely and it ignored the 360 and the virgin. Has the Wii cable made the tv change its settings is what I'm slowly rambling toward.

My tv has a secret menu that only opens when you hold down the menu button for a few seconds after the normal options open. I can't do this anymore after kv's sister got the rage and threw my 'mote at the wall, I now have one of those majical replacement ones that works like shit because none of the codes work 100% with my tv. The volume down button makes it louder and vice versa, and the mute button just makes it fall over.
