What's happening with 5punkorp & NR
With Dres effectively offline until further notice, eRabbit away and me looking to move elsewhere, there are inevitably lots of questions about the state of the corp(s) and what you can do for yourselves. I'll try to outline some options and explain what is going to happen with the stuff that we've built up over the last 2 years.
Nouveau Riche: this was set up with the aim of providing high end mining for BUM. When the alliance collapsed I made a deal with MC to let us keep it as long as we produced a good turnover in minerals refined in their station. However, due to the level of inactivity (95% of the corp no longer logs in, and of those only 2 are actually in 0.0), we're just keeping a POS ticking over and not actually using the resources down there. There are many reasons for this which I won't go into here, but the long and short of it is that the corp has become more effort to run than it is worth.
NR Plan: Unless I'm convinced by someone not to, I plan to pull the POS down and move everything back to the Goram office. I will move everyone's ships and equipment back to, so no one will be left out of pocket. However, NR will stay open with Mano as CEO, and remain as a non-alliance industry corp much the same way that Fw4ppers was before it.
5punkorp: In recent months I've increasingly found myself with nothing to be CEO of. The more active members have left or gone long term afk and it's clear that those who remain are only in the corp because they play too little to have a real go at joining another corp. This is why I'm looking at moving on myself, although I will keep an alt in 5punkorp as wherever I end up, I will still consider myself a 5punker at heart. There are still a few people who I believe log in and join up with ER or -V- gangs for some PvP.
Plan: 5punkorp will never close, but will revert back to a true 'slackers' corp with no one actually directing things (at least until Dres gets back or someone else decides to give it a go). I plan to transfer the CEO slot over to an alt in the short term and I will stay in nominal control until there's no longer any requirement for me to do so.
Optionsfor Corps:
1. 5punkorp stays in Eternal Rising. Gives the option for easy access to gang PvP whenever you want it, but may occasionally get a war dec (NR is there if you don't want that at all.
2. 5punkorp leaves ER and goes solo. May as well close NR totally and everyone moves back to 5punkorp for simplicity's sake. You'd be free to start your own war decs, yarrr or whatever.
Options for Individuals
1. Stay in 5punkorp or NR. There is still a fair amount to be done, and a lot of corp assets still, not to mention a good few bill in the corp wallet. There's every opportunity for invention, T1 building or just selling BPCs. Together with 5punk R&D, there is ample opportunity to make a lot of isk in empire with very little effort.
2. Ask about joining one of the individual invention corps such as 5punk R&D or Jimmy's Mining & Research Inc. You can still get access to the 5punkorp assets for loans or purchase any of the BPC's at mate's rates. Just let me know and I'll sort it.
3. Ask to join Lee & Slinger's war dec corp, FezCorp. I'm sure they'd be delighted to have more members.
Assets
For reference, we have roughly the following:
800mill isk in 5punkorp bank and about 100mill on the market in Arnola.
A basic selection of ammo, modules, ships and skill books in the hangar.
2bill in NR bank and about 500mill on the market in various places.
Extensive selection of BPC's of all types in Goram
About 250mill isk worth of minerals.
1 Raven and 1 Megathron BPO currently in possession of 5punk R&D
A medium faction POS and parts in VQE

Ahh so many thoughts for my little brain. I (Morrill and Jack) am on the upswing for play time but I am not sure what that means with the shake of things. Morrill is in NR and finally has all the skill to 0.0 effectively mining and tanking and could be jump hauling within hours if need be. I like 0.0 also. No real reason why I like that must just just be the flavor kinda thing.
1. Morrill could and would step up and take the reigns of things if needed. At least he could keep the operations afloat if that is what everyone else needs.
2. If NR folds he would probably move back to 5punk. Not sure where that would put things.
3. Keeping relationships open and established relationships are easier then making new ones, may be a thought for MC and NR. Should we remove the POS but still try to maintain mining and docking rights. Less work.
Those are my initial thoughts and i may have more later.
Basically Brubeck and I will be there in anyway needed. Neither of us like to step on toes. SO tell us how we can best be of service and we will be there.

I'm with Jack on the upswing of things. Starting in '08 (only week and a half away) I'll still be working 12 hours days off and on for 3 months. During that time I'll step up to a more active role which will increase in time (after those 3 months). Till then I'm in a what needs to be done role let me know and I'll work on it mode. feardaturtle101@gmail.com will be the best way to get in touch with me then in game.
I'm fine with keeping 5punk in ER, everyone who doesn't like WT has already left so rain the pain.
will say more later, now i have puppy classes so cya lata

I haven't (Brubeck) been active in NR - have been mostly doing a bit of this and that in Empire due to time issues. Things should lighten up a bit in the near future for a while though, and I was going to apply back to 5punk (if they'll have me) and start losing some more ships.
Thelonious Gren is pretty well tied to the manufacturing end of things, so will stay with 5punk R&D, hopefully generating lotsa isk to buy ships to get blown up by Brubeck.

As I understand teh situation, we would need to be stripping the system on a weekly basis to justify our presence there. This would mean 2-3 organised ops a week with 5-8 players each time. The current situation is a result of the fact that we haven't managed to get more then 2 players on line in PB at the same time in the last month+. There are a few of us (me included) who are not confident to mine solo
now....
if someone (not me, I'm not reliable / bothered enough) wishes to step up to the plate and organise a joint mining op schedule and enough can sign up to commit to attend (I would be willing to commit 1 weeknight per week attendance), then you may convince Friz that we should stay. It would be a first for the corp since we first went to 0.0 though, frankly. Otherwise, I would have thoguh that a proactive withdrawal would leave us in better shape to negotiate a return later on (if numbers / attendance improves) than if we hang around until asked to leave.
According to North, all the cash is in sucking veld anyway

I'm kinda in agreement w/ Bomber on the strategic withdrawl.
If we move back to empire, use the buildy/inventy resources we have to build fortunes and maybe recruit/train more miners for 0.0, then we go back to MC and say, "Hey, remember us? We have a fleet of Rorq's now, can we come back and top up your mins like crazy?" That would be of more benefit to them than waiting for us to grow up again. Mining in Empire in the right systems is still pretty profitable, just takes some scouting to find those unmined systems. Also, as Friz said, there's other ways to make isk w/ what the corp has now.
Tis just a 5punky rebuilding period where we adjust to the players we have onhand.

Er, doesn't it have less than 12 hours to live? It needs to be unanchored before it goes offline or we're screwed...if it's still alive tomorrow I may be able to JC down and do some in the morning, not sure though.Akiakaiu wrote:I'm planning on tearing down the tower by the end of the week. Check the sheet

This gives me time to do it, instead of rushing about.
And for the record I was tanking that demios for 5 minutes and her shields were still holding.
