MC Standings Reset

Post by friznit »

Don't panic, NR is still blue.

However, MC will be reviewing our status in J8 in the new year. Unless we can convince them that they stand to gain by having us in their back yard then we'll lose access. If the current minimal level of activity continues, we're highly likely to be asked to move out. As a rough idea, they consider stripping the entire system once a week to be a 'useful' level of activity.

I'll be doing a final pre-Xmas jump run (cyno jammers permitting) in the next 7 days. If you want stuff moved either direction, please have it contracted to me in the usual manner.

OK. Having spoken to Pass and looked at the membership roster last night, is anyone actually using NR anymore? Log ins are minimal and for mostly very short periods, there's no mining to speak of and no ratting/exploration at all. It seems that all we do is horse some ice mining from time to time just to keep the POS alive.

Unless I get a very convincing reason to keep it, I'll pull the POS down next week and start shifting everything back to empire. It's not worth spending all that time, effort and isk just to keep a POS going for one or two people to rat once a month.

We can keep NR going as the 'new Fw4ppers' - i.e. the non-alliance corp for people who want to avoid war decs and standing issues, and 5punkorp will remain in ER for the time being, as I believe people still enjoy the opportunity to join a PvP gang from time to time, and this is by far the best place to enable that.

We can discuss what to do with 5punkorp/NR assets at a later date. There's a few bill that we can invest in one of our sub-ventures so they can continue to provide an industrial backing for the 5punky diaspora.

narf, I had great hopes for NR and our deal in PB, but there doesn't seem to have been much oomph behind a team approach to the area, especially since Dres went offline. Symptomatic of our culture perhaps.

My online time continues to be limited but I would put effort into regular mining ops if there's interest. I did put my finger in the air a couple of weeks back, but the wind wasn't blowing. I'm off on hols for 2 weeks next friday, so I'm unavailable to help with a rearguard "let's use PB" action until the NY, which I gather will likely be too late

If we're pulling out, I have a hulk that I'd appreciate moved back to emp, that's all though I think. If you need help, I can get a (NR) hauler pilot out there pretty quick

need any help stowing stuffs?

I use it, and I've used it more then I've used Aki for the last month or two, but as you said it's really just me. I see no one else out at the pos, Since I've put up the tower 90% of my online time has been trying to mine Ice for the pos. It would be nice to have it, but I'm not going to spend all my limited play time keeping the pos up just for me. So come on out to 0.0 and do the NR stuffs or Friz say the word and I'll start ripping her apart.

I'll miss her, but I am not Dres, and I'm not a leader. With work and a family I'm not going to schedule a mining op I'm not sure 'd be able to make, and if I did make them for when I'd be sure I'd be on, 90% of NR would be in bed. Though, I will say there was a few times where I've been mining ice, and I let it be known I was mining ice, and there were NR peoples on, most in empire, but there were a few times they were just ratting next door.

Doesn't. Good will is wonderful, but it needs to inspire action or it's sorta wasted :P

5punkorp was always about having a laugh. narf i havent had fun since BEFORE we put our first tower up. Appart from the assault on F4R. And defending Tycho.....And KW-0. And 9UY.and...

Dammit, i knew what i was trying to say, but got diverted........

5punkorps 'Been There' for many of the flashpoints in EvE history, but what we been doing recently hasnt been fun (to me). narf, i've been considering droping EvE altogether, and what i'm doing right now (Log in for some PVe, change skills, log out) aint helpin. About 6 moths ago, we had a discussion, and i think the main point that came out of it was "5punkorp cant be a herd of cats, AND a viable PVP/0.0 corp". Well, i belive the discusion has come again. What do a notoriously hard to organise bunch of people, choose to do with their internet spaceships.

Answer seems self-evident narf. Grind isk/skills in empire until the end of time, or move onto other corps. Such is it now and how it's always been, 9 months in ISS aside

Well, the official word from the official CEO is that officially 5punkorp is reverting back to an official slacker's corp.

erm

Let me put that another way. Noone is going to make the corp do anything. There's noone in the driving seat because narf, I kinda got a bit bored of driving when the passengers weren't all that interested in where we were going, and Dres fell off the internet and took the industrial engine with him. So we sorta have this vehicle with no engine and no driver floating around in space. So it's more than just Christmas and stuff. 5punkorp isn't actually dead dead, just that noone is moving it forward to do new and exciting things.

I believe we've got the corp in a position so that people can do stuff if they want to: ER is pretty chilled and we're not about to get kicked for inactivity, so there's access to PvP for those who want it. 5punk R&D and Jimmy's venture are still going, as is the Lee/Slinger war dec gang if people want to do that. It's only the deep 0.0 mining stuff that we're going to lose, and narf the way most of us play the game there's no need for it.

A few of us are looking to bigger and more dynamic things, myself included, but I intend to keep at least an alt in 5punkorp to have things ticking over.

At the end of the day, wherever we end up, we're all still 5punkers, and 5punkorp, Fw4ppers, Nouveau Riche & 5punk R&D will always be there for us if we need them. I plan to be buying my battleships off 5punkorp forever!

Damn. I'm sorry guys! The fat and juicy roids of 0.0 are going to be taken away from us because my damn laptop died. What a bummer!

Tiem to werk though, gotta make some isk so I can buy a new toy to play with you lot in Eve.

Friz, can you be bothered to move my stuff back to Empire? I don't suppose you have clone vats set up so you could move my implant clone back for me as well? You can toss my ships on the market out there for cheap, I can always build more.

Hell, you can even sell my Hulk there if you want, don't we still have some in Empire kicking around? I don't recall if we ever did get them all built and sold.

Any idea how my skills are doing?

(Damn I feel needy today. Don't feel obliged to be arsed with any of my stuffs, I just really miss playing Eve, and hate to see so much that I've worked for stuck where I can't use it is all.)

Happy Holidays, mates! Just in case I don't get a chance to say it again before they holidays actually get here!

Your skills are bubbling along nicely. If I do take everything down I'll be sure to move everyone's gear back to empire or at least reimburse the full cost of of it in isk.

We built almost all the hulks and sold them either to corp members or on the market, making a tidy profit of about 1bill isk in the process which paid for that mega bpo. We can start a new thread to work out what to do with the isk and bpc's we have sitting idle.

It's not all doom and gloom, just that we need to ensure the corp(s) are set up in such a way that they can best support people's intermittent playing styles.

If you haven't yet jumped my BC and HAC down, please don't! If they've already gone however I will pack up my hulk and things and send everything back as a job lot :) Then I will set about destroying belts in 0.5 I guess (shame really, I only just got out there but was too nervous to mine solo as even though I've got the skills to tank (I think) most of the things out there, I have never had a hulk or any usable faction things so I didn't want to lose them that fast  ) But now I can get my confidence back and get cracking!

Well with everyone going, I am not sure where http://www.5punk.co.uk/phpbb/viewtopic.php?t=13371 is at but a few of us have discussed this in passing. Can we have access to it somehow or info on what's going in? I hear in passing individuals talking about Golem invention and such but nothing from the corp itself. Those that aren't going any where need a mutual goal to work on.
