If you touch your software enough does it become hardware?

Ubercheap Graphics cards

http://www.retekdirect.co.uk/acatalog/Video_Cards.html

most noteable is the Hercules Radeon 9700 Pro 128 MB Video Card.

if you're using any lower end nvidia or radeon cards, it'll be a great update for little money. may not be too keen on BF2, but hl2 will run fine on it at mid-highish settings

that's about the price for a 9800 from post places.

remember, there's little difference between a 9700 pro and a 9800 pro, usually a few fps at best

I have the 128MB model of this 256MB model: http://www.dabs.com/uk/Search2/Product+ ... klinx=3MG9 and it runs BF2 for me just fine on the "high" setting, now the 256MB one is the same price I paid for the 128MB one a few weeks ago. It requires AGP 8x - so check you have have that, or there's PCI-e available for about the same price.
