Recruiting a webmonkey!

Post by Grimmie »

Wanted: Someone superior to I in website design and management to upload a series of bi-weekly/weekly/monthly (Depending on ease) webcomics. This would mean constructing and possibly hosting the comic (Unless I can grab us a keenspace domain) making a decent layout for the comic and allowing the artist and myself (the writer, woot) to put small blog entries along with each comic. Apply within or shoot an IM off to me on AIM or MSN. Oh, and it helps if you can make archives for pages easily.. And upload comics as requested.

Examples of desirable layouts:
<a href="http://www.whiteninjacomics.com/">White ninja</a>
<a href="http://chugworth.com/comic.php">Chugworth</a>
<a href="http://www.megatokyo.com/">Megatokyo</a>

<b>EDIT:</b>
Actual conversation..

Just use blogger, or something along those lines, and edit the template.

I'd offer to help, but I'm having enough problems finding the time to do stuff on here at the moment

You mean something like livejournal? Eeh.. Maybe.
There's still the problem with hosting images and having archive menus. Possibly a page for characters bio's and suchlike. I'm not sure.

it should be easy enough to set up. sounds alright to me.
you could probably even use a nice cms like mambo or something.
i use a host that is incredibly good value, £17 a year for everything you would ever need.
if you do need a hand ill be around as well

Yep, mambo is good!

Prof Hawking is right, your best bet is too get some webspace with a host that uses "FANTASTICO" within the control panel.

Basically there is a large number of image galleries, content manangement systems (CMS), forums.... and they can all be installed/configured with just a couple of clicks :D

P.S. There is blogger software called blogger funnily enough

Had a chat with hawking.. I'll have to ask Jenna (The artist) if she wants to buy proper hosting from the start or not. From what Mr. Prof says, it'd be much easier for him to get us started if that's the case..

In reply to tezzrexx - Photobucket only allows you a limited amount of bandwidth, can you image what'd happen if we got popular? After a few days all the pictures would go down!
