BF2142 patch 1.40 released

Post by deject »

Code: Select all

UPDATE 1.40
=================

FEATURES

- Added a new map - Highway Tampa.
- Added an autosave to kit customisations. After you customise a kit and spawn in with that kit, the customisation will be automatically saved until you change it and spawn in again. Note that you must spawn in with a particular kit for it to be saved.
- Titans will now spawn up to two gunships per side
- Squad Leaders no longer have to resupply to re-equip destroyed drones

CHANGES

- Exploit Fix: hardcoded the time limits of Orbital and EMP strikes.
- RDX Shotgun now detonates RDX, Motion Mines, AP Mines with minimum of 2 rounds.
- Ported EU Assault Rifle changes to the Best Buy unlock as well.
- Fixed LMG Left/Right Recoil
- Revised EU Assault Rifle Recoil
- Increased Clark rate of fire to match Herzog
- Fixed PAC shotgun attachment recoil to match other Herzogs
- Further adjustment to Squad Leader drones to prevent them accidentally killing the Squad Leader when deployed
- Further fix to prevent "pod surfing". Note that some pod movement will still be possible and is an intended gameplay mechanic to allow the player to have some small choice of landing site and to access rooftops
- Smoke from the CM3-N Radar Grenade deploys more quickly. The Radar range has been slightly increased and endures for the duration of the smoke effect.
- The CM3-N Radar Grenade may now be resupplied.
- The screening effectiveness of all smoke grenades has been significantly improved.
- Adjusted Talon heat source position to improve Gunship missile balance.
- Beta Feedback: Fixed the placement of an AA gun on Highway Tampa
- Beta Feedback: Improved the visuals of the swimming pool on Highway Tampa
about fucking time this was released. unfortunately, I doubt any of you guys care at this point.

I stopped playing about 6 months ago because I couldn't even connect by that point. Shame, I liked it.

Hooray, they made changes that I would've liked 8 months ago when I was actually playing the game.

I'll have to find some time to play this again, I love(d) it. It's certainly better than the disappointing Quake Wars.

I think I even (accidentally) bought Northern Strike, but like Caek Wars haven't actually found time to play it at all.

Those two, plus ArmA, The Witcher and Hellgate plus a panoply of 360, PS2 and DS RPG titles are all on my "I really must get around to playing this a bit" pile, but constantly get buried by other games.

Fortunately I will soon be able to take a decent amount of holiday from work, after a two-year slog with next-to-no breaks. But I'll probably fritter away my time on my other MMOs and ancient DreamCast/GameCube RPGs like I normally do.

:above: this, mostly, though it's been less than 8 months for me, more like 3 or 4. It's a good game, and I need to see how well this patch improves it.

fuck that, it runs barely passable as it is for the single player game, MP would just be bad. It looks fun and all, so if you guys are still :cod: ing when I get a new videocard I shall join in.

I'll only play some CoD 4 MP because everyone else is playing it, otherwise I wouldn't be too bothered. I prefer more variety in my FPSs like what the Beef series and Teef offer.

Maybe now DP is back online perhaps we can resurrect the ancient art of Future Suck.

Yeah, saturday afternoons were always a good Futurebeef timeslot for me. I'll probably continue once I a) download the patch on my shite connection and b) see if it actually works.
