Anybody gain personal info from an Email address?...

Post by Dyslexic Dwarf »

So the story goes, i bought an Iphone off of Ebay froma trusted seller, 99.3% positive feedback on a 422 score, majority as a seller too. Everything was seemingly ok, i paid for it on thursday morning (last week) and was promised necxt day delivery on the auction page. I still don't have the phone and since i paid for it a couple of Negative feedbacks have popped up saying : Still Dont Have Item a week later? that one was left the day i paid. There's this too : Paid for a item 2 weeks ago, no respond to communication, no delivery This was left today, It's a lacoste jumper anyway so all that means is a pissed off Chav! :)

Now i'm not mega worried because the seller has sold some pricey stuff on Ebay before now, in the last few months, even weeks. You've gotta wonder though when i've not had a single reply to any of 4 messages, which haven't only gone through Ebay, they have been Emailed too might i add.

The Iphone was generally quite cheap, well considerably cheapert than others but this is because it is used and is bricked (not a problem) so i was thinking maybe they've gotten pissed off at the fact they didn't get what they wanted...

Anyway, i'd be pretty greatful if i could get a bit of info on them from an Email address, i've heard it being done before but don't know what it entails etc so.... That's where you lot come in LOL.

I won't post the address until someone says that they can do it (if it's possible) as i just think that's a bit out of order... infact i'll PM it.

TIA 8)

Could be on holiday, it's happened to me when I've bought stuff.

I make sure to tell people I won't be available from x to y in the auction if I really have to have the auction running when I'm away.

Use the dispute console as well chap.

Only possible if the persons email address is on the domain that they've bought themselves and if they've registered to themselves and then if they've not opted out - you can do a WHOIS lookup...

So if it's an unusual domain you could go to http://www.dnsstuff.com/ and type it in to the WHOIS tool and see if the address matches what is given on Ebay

A lot of if's...
