POLL

Post by centerededgedesign »

Ok, not a standard POLL, but more of a discussion one.

I'll read through comments throughout the day, and edit this main post as things are talked about, voted for, and such.

The "5punky Bunch" could use a bit of isk for operational expenses such as: ship build costs (low ends and build slots), fuels, ship insurances, STUFF (tm), and other things I've typed up in other posts that elude my morning brain before it's ingested adequate coffees.

I have a few thoughts:

Short term tax rate hike.

Adjust the weekend op to 50% corp, 50% pilots. 2 votes
Including tax rate to 50% so ratters can contribute as well.

Accept pre-orders on the Hulks we're selling to members for quick isk that we're going to be making anyway. 2 votes

Loans from members 2 votes
Any other thoughts? I'll add those and start tallying votes as people reply.
Thanks!

Accounts as at 17 Oct:

NR: 152mill in Ore to Isk, 5mill in Master Wallet

5punkorp: 100mill in Master Wallet for sundry payments, 575mill in the Bank.

I'll transfer 300mill from the 5punk bank to NR to tide us over. Remaining 275+100mill will be kept for a potential POS we'll be putting up in GW to rat out of.

Either / both of those is good, although I'd probably be kinder on the ratters (speaking as an exratter turned miner)

If you want the isk up front for the hulks, I personally have no objection.

If the corp needs ISK I can provide a limited personal loan of 100 to 150 mil - it's my savings for a Hulk tank at present.

If we can hold off building those ships for a bit, we'll be fine. The first Hulks come out of the oven shortly, we'll be able to collect isks on them, and that should keep us going. Trying to decide where isk for the BS programme are to come from is the next tricky bit for us to figure out is all.

If we have a specific hump to get over, I suggest we do some mining along the 50/50 basis you suggested earlier. As people graduate to hulks the take is going to skyrocket.

I should be around Saturday after DT and maybe Friday nigth aswell. Any NATZ peeps, I can usually get a couple of hors in around 0400-0700EVE on Sundays (I'm an early riser, Bubble is not) although an England win on Saturday night will likely put any thoughts of being awake before noon on Sunday in doubt :P

It [edit: corp bs prog] is supposed to be 85% self financing. But if people don't PvP, then they won't blow up the ships that are corp insured, and the isk disappears. Then again, if people don't PvP, we don't need corp insured BS. So we may as well not build any more ships.

how about adjusting the terms of the programme

1st BS is on the corp. Individual insures and fits to taste after which corp will supply to order at cost

The 1st BS could be a grad present much like we were giving out BCs before

That way the individual is responsible. It's perhaps not as transparent a motivator to PvP as "Free ships come get 'em!" but as you pointed out that isn't really working anyway and expired insurance policies due to unused ships just cost the corp isk for zero return in player happiness / participation.

Good recruiting tool too.

/edit. At the very least I'd suspend it until "demand" picks up.

mm good point here! I think you guys just need to focous on industry than PVP for now to be honest! if you all getting tight on the wallet but also you guys doing well getting production etc. PVP I think should be a break from industry for you guys!

thats why i not doing anything other making isk for some time :) and buy some dancer :)

with the NR mining and people you have right now I think be great on T2 and cap production :)

Bomber - tried that one before, doesn't work. People take bs, blow it up and still have no isk. Back to square one. They say they can't PvP cos they can't afford a ship. But if the provision of free ships isn't enough to get people PvPing, then Pete's right - people just aren't gonna PvP, so I'll quit trying to make them do it and we'll stick to industry :)

We'll stay in ER though, so those who want to do the odd bit of pew pew can join Alliance ops from time to time - and we can sell them all the stuff we build. But if the Alliance direction wobbles any further I may have to jump ship for a while and leave an alt in charge. Dres is doing an admirable job of running the industry, Mano will still be in NR, and I'll still be running things in all but name, just without 'Friz'.
