I've upgraded a few bits tonight, and thats all fine.
But i decided to reinstall windows at the same time, and to Raidify the system drives.
Now, the mobo is an asus m2n32-sli deluxe, using the nvida 590sli chipset. This includes both Nvidia's built in raid, and a silicon image raid controller.
I am trying to use the Nvidia raid. Array is built and all, booting from it ok etc.
I have made a floppy disk as per nvida instructions to load drivers into windows setup.
So, to installing windows...
I boot off an XP CD.
Press F6 to load drivers.
When prompted, i pop in the floppy, and choose two drivers, (as per nvidia info)
Nvidia storage controller, and RAID drivers.
All is well, setup loads these off the disk, and continues setup.
Setup successfully finds the raid array, so i make a partition, and choose to format it, which it does.
Then, it begins to copy files to the PC, starting with the controller drivers. It tries to read the floppy, but fails on the first file: nvraid.sys
"Cannot copy the file: nvraid.sys"
I get options to retry, skip, abort.
If i skip it, it comes up with the next file it was supposed to load off the floppy, etc etc. Then it continues setup until BSODing.
Why can it find the drivers on the floppy at one point but not another?
Loads of people seem to have the same issue on the web, but i havent found any working solutions.
I have tried retrying/new disks etc. Even tried to slipstream them but that didnt work either. Got a different error there.
So, anyone got any ideas?
I am in serious danger of loosing more of my mind.
