think its partially me. Im craving the kind of battles that this alliance is not caperble of. Nor will be for a very long time. To drag you up to that level kicking and screaming is compleatly unfair. Ive been in 316 on and off for 2 years now. Ive seen it fight battles of epic proportions, fall apart and grow to the stong corp it currently is when people log in.
exactly can be said for the alliance too.
But in some sick twisted way, i crave lag deaths. I miss the massive fleets, the beer and the relaxation of knowing i dont have to fc. Being able to change roles and do other things from time to time. I have not been able to do that here, its effecting my enjoyment on the game. So, i tender my resignation from the alliance and the corp to you all. My roles are quit and im gonna go take an extended break in a super alliance where i can be 'regualr joe' for a couple of months and log in, kill people and log out. Without having to organise gangs, solve world hunger etc
I loved flying with you all and will linger in eternalpub so you can all laugh at the alliance ive joined and can chat to you lot. Please also note that this is not a snap idea thats formed in the frustration of the current contract situation. It has formed over many weeks, which is visible in the amount i havnt been online and havnt been pvp'ing (yes i have uni, but there's always time for eve) as fog can vouch for as i mentioned in passing to him a few weeks ago that i was considering leaving.
I however dont want this to trigger a mass routing of alliance peeps. You are strong enough to survive and have the tallent to suceed as a group. Dont waste it.
deersew1, please leave this up for 24hrs, then strip my forum acess down to peasent level plse.

Quick, recruit all their PVP'ers into 5punk, before Hulky gets his mits on 'em! If we can just make 5punk large enough, to heck w/ an alliance! We've got spaces for alt to do 5punky stuff on the sides, get 5punkorp in a nice war and wreak some havoc!
Barring that, um, try to get our PVP'ers into an MC corp? They like us and all.... Gets us PVP for our PVP'ers, and they don't have to be top rung FC types either.

In reply, I wrote wrote:I've know Eternal Rising for about 3 months, since we first met up during BUM's planning period to take Sylph down. Thereafter we spent a short time working together in Curse, during which time Elf and Sylva asked if I'd like to join the Alliance when BUM got Butter Dogged and fell apart. During our short time in 316, I've been a part of a few sporadic, individually successful but largely ineffective ops in Geminate, followed by a reasonably well executed move to GW and then not a great deal. This leads me to the unavoidable conclusion that the only 2 people who actually make shit happen are Elf and Sylva. Sylva is in long term emo mode after breaking his internet spaceship, and Elf just dropped this drama bomb of epic proportions on us.
From 5punkorp's perspective, we're a largely carebear organisation with a small but developing group of PvPers. This precludes us from joining nearly every alliance in game (that's worth anything anyway) as they all want capital pilots and solid pvpers. ER was good enough to take us on trust and we have enjoyed the relaxed and friendly atmosphere, but have been concerned by the lack of organisation - see my first point.
So with Elf gone, and Sylva nowhere to be seen, I can only presume that my corp will be back on the road fairly shortly. Whether I go with them or take my own path is something for us to determine internally.
ER isn't collapsing (yet). Just Elf is leaving. But as you can see from my reply, my perception in the short time that I've known them is that this will have a very detrimental effect on the Alliance as a whole.centerededgedesign wrote:Quick, recruit all their PVP'ers into 5punk, before Hulky gets his mits on 'em! If all our 'PvPers' joined MC, and all the carebears were in NR, who'd be left in 5punkorp?
My inclination, IF we left ER, would be to go it alone in Empire or Low Sec for a while. Run a few independent, small scale, griefer style war decs, and concentrate on industry in a big way.
I doubt they know Hehulk or BS.I, and I wasn't the most active member of 5punkorp in 316. Me comming out of the blue and say hey, come join this corp you've possibly never heard of is unlikely to produce good results.centerededgedesign wrote:Quick, recruit all their PVP'ers into 5punk, before Hulky gets his mits on 'em!

The 'concentrate on industry in a BIG way' is what we've somehow gravitated toward naturally, so continuing to grow that would be logical. Keeping the 'people who like explosions and adrenaline' happy is important too though, so roving gangs into low sec, or possibly tagging along w/ Hulky's group, or massively 5punky level 5 missions all have some booming appealling points, (I hope, being very carebearish lately, the rats are the only things I've shot, and some rogue drones).

The problem there, as highlighted through out 5punkorps entire history is having enough members actually interested in PVP online at the same time to reach the critical mass needed to form an effective roaming gang. 3 roaming BS is like asking to get killed, but 3 ceptors/recons equally won't achieve much (and might actually struggle to kill the odd roaming BS if you've got everyone in recons).
HAC gangs are a nice option in 2s or 3s, but few 5punkers are skilled enough SP wise and confident enough to go PVPing in a 150 mil+ investment that pays out about 8 mil when you die, and hesitant PVPers are a bane to effective gangs. It's also worth pointing out I think that the few 5punkers there are that have the stones and the skills to fly in HAC gangs invariably don't have the isk (Fucked if I know where their funds from NR are going, those with alts there) .
Forming effective PVP gangs have long been the antithesis of 5punkorp. 90% of the corp are carebears at heart who will fight when they must (Or in some cases, won't even do that), and simply denying this fact and going oh, lets try this again or that again won't break this.
Back in March the corp was fairly effectivly dead, and while since then we've seen something of a second renasence this has mostly been achieved by forming alt corps (5punkience, Nouve Riche) it's not been all that healthy for 5punkorp it's self as far as forming a PVP base goes.
As Friz said last night in-game, now that 316 is about to fall apart we're back to square one, and while it does sorta pain me to type this, perhaps it's time to let the old girl go, retire 5punkorp back to being a purely empire dwelling corp and have those far more interested in PVP move onto pastures new (That's not a Bs.I recruitment post. From what I know, 5punkorps PVPers would be far happier in something like slackers industries or 0utbreak)
That said, it's easy for me to say when I've only got a semi-active alt in 5punkorp that adds very little to the advancement of the corp, as oppose to people like Friz and Dres who put bucket-loads of effort into making the place work.

Considering I'm not active at the moment as you all know, if my opinion still counts here it is... I agree with Hulky, to a point. The members of 5punkorp who want to go out and be in a pvp corp/alliance have dropped recently, Jimmy left and I'm busy bantering Leeds up the ying yang, so saying "let the old girl go" isn't really accurate for what would happen. But turning the corp back into a pure industry/mission running corp and letting the pvp players move on to pastures new would probably be for the best.
At the moment you have carebear players getting bugged to pvp when they don't really want to and pvp characters in a corp that can't effectively pvp on it's own. It may well be time for the corp to concentrate on one thing, for the majority of the members, and say goodbye to the players who want to pvp. However, this idea is going to put Friz in a fuck-awful position about where he goes

the 5punky Way will survive no matter where our pilots go. Look at Hulky. 5punkorp is the glue that binds us, no matter where it's pilots go. I doubt that wherever Friz might go, that Mano would leave NR and it's isk generation potentials. We can provide cost ships to any ex-5punker, and 5punkorp will always be a home for pilots to hang out in when the alliance they join folds, turns EMO, or gets dec'd into oblivian.
The 5punky Way predates even 5punkorp, and that truly, as 5punkers, is what we need to ensure the survival of.

Hmm, if we lose our PVP'ers, who would like to go UBER industrial and start building caps for our 5punky friends?
To do such a thing would require people to mine ALOT, which may drive them insane enough to fit shooty lasers and start suicide ganking in Jita w/o updating their clone just so they could plausibly say that they COULDN'T mine.
I only throw it out there as a possibility to help the shooty among us afford those giant beasts. To me, a pvp'er starts off w/ AF's, and eventually ends up in Dreads, waiting for the isk to move to Mom's and Titans. Otherwise, what do they train?

Most PVPers end up in BS and simply cross train to other races, few people actually aim at capitals because they're expensive and mainly boring, and getting to use em in a fight happens once every month on sundays. Generally, you find corp leadership types do it because they don't want to ask their members to train for ships that arn't fun (there are exceptions. BoB, MC, D2 back in the day, and ASCN)
Build me lots of cheap megathrons and mmm 'new' T2 siege ravens Keep the thorax's coming, and invent rooks, falcons and the odd cerberus for me to blow up and I'll love you for ever.
I'm coming round to Dres's idea. The industrial 5punkorp, made up of NR, 5punkience and 5punkorp itself, keep all '5punkers' supplied with cut price toys (not cost, gotta make a profit somwhere) in return for which we keep them protected. Which means if shit hits the fan, the bad guys get the combined might of CoW, Insurgency, MC and Tri stinking all over them.
5punkorp will be the world's alt corp, and ofc the receiver of all our stolen loots

So, you wana sell me cut price T2, BS, etc, in exchange for which should the proverbial shit hit the fan, I come help defend you?friznit wrote:Build me lots of cheap megathrons and mmm 'new' T2 siege ravens Keep the thorax's coming, and invent rooks, falcons and the odd cerberus for me to blow up and I'll love you for ever.

I think possibly the rest of BS.I might be interested in that as well
