Merc Contract #2
Following our carebear break that's supposed to finish this Sunday, it looks like we've picked up another Merc contract already. narf a few of us are resisting because it means yet another move after we only just got to GW and it's a bit short notice. Anyway, here're the details. Let me know what you think:
Client: The OSS Alliance
Target: BRUCE (Brutally Clever Empire)
Situation: BRUCE have got their shit together and have OSS perpetually camped in the JQV constellation, Syndicate region. They are looking for someone to come in a boot BRUCE out of those NPC systems and are willing to compensate for the assistance generously.
Intel: Their main system S-U8A4 is 2 carrier jumps from Uanzin, it is the entry point to the constellation and can be bubbled and defended until the BRUCE blob shows up. From earlier dealings with BRUCE putting pressure on their entry system of PC-9AY tends to send everyone running home to defend. We used to torture their back systems with recons and afk with cloakers to disrupt industry. They also used to run multiple freighters from Reblier/6-C49 to PC-9AY on a regular basis.
BRUCE have a stronger US timezone presence, about 30 capital ships, and a small dread fleet. Average fleet sizes are 40 men with 5-6 caps roaming freely. If they put there mind to it they can get up to 170+30 caps.
Friendly horses: Alliance will do a limited move to Reblier i.e. Just taking enough ships to fight with, not all our stuff. We must be prepared to deploy sniper fleets, black ops roaming gangs and inty skirmishes to disrupt their industry.
Coord. You will need the following:
2 bs - 1 fleet sniper fit, 1 gank gang fit. Bring your corp insured bs and fittings, I'll run the spares over.
1 or 2 Inties, dictors, covops, recons or equivalent for roaming gangs.
Timings. First op is scheduled for Thursday 2100 leaving from Reblier with a follow up at 0100.

Personally I think it's all a bit short notice and I've said as much on the Alliance forum. I'm also away this weekend so won't be coming to play until next week anyway
I'll get some confirmatory details today and let you guys know so you can go play this weekend. Mano will run the spare corp bs over and get an office in or near Reblier.

hmm, I only just started fekking around in armold or whatever it's called. Camped that 7q- system for a couple of hours under teh watchful eye of a covops scout somewhere in syst. Only 1 T1 frig turned up, so it was a bit of a bust all round really.
Carebearing not bothered anyway coz we have NR so I say, if there's action let's Yarrrr
I can have a selection of T2 frigs down there pretty quickly, BS is a different matter but can be done. How long is the ocntract for? reads like it might only be a few days

FUUUCCK, if I was still playing I'd be up there like a shot.
I know the region like the back of my hand, and still have stuff up there as my main base of ops was 3 jumps from reb.
That, and OSS used to be an alliance partner until 2 alliances went to war up there earlier on in the year and ganked the fuck out of us.
Also to note: Couple of pirate corps work around reb.

I think we have enough, not calculated narf. With what we bought last nigh, I would hope it would be, but as I said, haven't calculated, and I've no idea if they've been moved yet.
So maybe get the cruisers cooking first, as they'll take alot less, and when a WHOLE LOT of trit and Pye show up, toss the rest on.

Yes, I'll move the hulks down before I go.
Also, as I've stated on numerous occasions, the Rorq won't actually be any help whatsoever to a mining op, as Mano barely has the skill to fly it let alone go into siege mode, compress ore (that we shouldn't be doing anyway cos we meant to refine in Y-C), or have any mining leadership skills to speak of. It's a great jump hauler tho.
