Portal spoilerz/discussion

Post by HereComesPete »

I've already said it on the disco, but portal is rather fucking amazing.

end of game spoilers wrote:Right, after finding all the way up to the last 2 rooms easy, then finding them rather fucking silly, but needing nothing more than mad timing stee's and the ability to not vomit. I 'break' apature testing labs, see all the stuff about black mesa, then proceed to follow vague clues about how the caek is a lie (booo, to lie about caek), and so on. I'm just past the green eyed snake bot that fires missiles thing, and completely trapped by getting into a little vent, which I think I'll use a table on. but my brain really fucking hurts now. Anyone else thinking, this is a bit fucking amazing?
berk edit: you cupcake, please try to label spoilers clearly.[/b]

:ignore: berk, read the topic, it says spoilerz, I think saying spoilers when there's spoilers covers labelling them as spoilers. No? Also, if there were no spoilers in my topic, I wouldn't have gone to the trouble of hiding them in a same colour texty quote boxy thingy, as we usually do here on 5punk, you may have noticed. :P If you can't refrain from reading what people have written, that's your fault.

I'm on level 18.

Fuck me, it's a bit hard and suddenly more complex than previous rooms.

I breezed upto level 18 in about half an hour.

Yep, I was right near the end.

Bloody amazing game. I'll give Episode 2 a go now and then maybe do the bonus more difficult portal maps.

I got to 18 and decided to have a go of Ep 2, but I've just realised how stupidly easy one of the puzzles in one of the earlier levels was, that I did in the most amazingly complex fashion. I tend to overthink stuff which trips me up on relatively easy, but hard-seeming puzzles.

This was a triumph.
I'm making a note here:
HUGE SUCCESS

That's gotta be one of the best end credits ever. CAKE WAS NOT A LIE

Thanks for the mp3 Berk.
Great game and just the right length, considering. It took me 4.5 hours (with some messing about infinite looping) so I must be a spaz. A couple of the later puzzles really got me and I had to fluke one big jump. But it proof of a good game because I didn't cheat or get frustrated. Lots of "Ahhh, that's how you do it" moments.

There's a couple of Advanced puzzles I can't get my head around. I think I'll come back to them later.
Shame I can't just play EP2 now, it looked really shiny from the first few minutes I saw.

I've just finished doing them and I think my brain has melted. I may rest Portal awhile now and try episode 2.

The credits are indeed the best ever.
