NR Mining OP

Post by friznit »

When would suit you guys? We need to hammer some roids hard.

I'm up for any evening this week or anytime over the weekend. This needs to be a good op, not just one person with a hauler.

Put me down as a maybe-hauler.

I can do T2 mining in a Hulk, but that would require planning in advance to get the Hulk out there.

With things as they are I can't guarantee I can make it, which sucks for you and me both. I can pod myself down easy enough at short notice tho. Can fly Itty 5's.

Also, i'm fairly sure the Reticle has all the pre-reqs for cyno, just not the actual cyno skill. Are you looking for someone in MC space with a cyno, or someone in a midpoint? If it's a midpoint I'll get a n00b alt trained up with electronics.

:ninja: edit: Would MorbidMonk/PerkyNun be a welcome addition to NR? If I can get him to park a main in 5punkorp? All he does is mine and he'd be a good asset in that respect. I've not said anything to him yet.

Sure thing. He doesn't even need a main in 5punkorp. But he'd need a decent tank on that machine of his to survive the rats...and even if the corp never sees the product of his endeavours, our hosts would be getting their slice from the refinery which is really what I'm after to be brutally honest - as long as we're still useful to them we'll be welcome down there ;)

Cyno I need is about 5 jumps in 0.0 at a friendly POS. Noob toon can join NR too to save been shot.

Wednesday would suit me

hold on .. that's tonight

iirc There's a retreiver in PB corp orifice but it only has T1 strips on it and I have no assets out there at all (still saving for teh exhumer SB :P ) but I'll fly that if there's an op on. Anyone with T2 strips they can lend me + crystals (I think I have skills for T2 crystals for all the ores in PB, certainly for most of them)

Otherwise I'm out till next week. Nxt Monday might be good though.

can't haul, sorry

I can do 4+ hours after DT on Sunday. Saturday I can do some sporadically, as my daughter is home in the morning.

I've begun Domi mining to get some isks while out in NR, gets a little Bistot in the hangar while allowing me to tank when I'm all alone out there.

I also have some T2 ice lasers in production through Jack, Brubeck built us more T2 Mining and Ice harvesting upgrades, and I believe, (not certain) that Perky/Morbid has already applied to NR. If not, I at least sent him a mail about it.

Also, I have a T2 fitted Hulk out there in the hangar array that can either a) be used by Fear until his gets shipped, or b) be borrowed parts from to get Bomber sorted for mining.

500mil is a drop in the bucket. They should pay that without blinking, and would prolly do so happily.

Sorry if any of this comes across as patronising, I hope it's useful advice. It's just that some of you guys always end up maintaining POS forests. I really don't know how you do it.

If Hobos aer willing to pay for tower setup and maintenance then I suggest you take a structured approach

look at your costs
look at what Hobos could earn from the tower
aim your price somewhere between the two

include in your costs your own time of course at a rate that you could make elsewhere (say 10 or 20M an hour, which you could make ratting 0.0, less if you think hisec is easier)
any materials you buy you can charge them regional average, then set long buy orders and leverage profit there.

A quicker way would be to calc what Hobos can make from teh tower, take of 15-20% and charge them that, if it looks like enough to you.

Don't do them any favors, they won't do you any

Afaik, Dolly only sets-up the tower, because you need very night faction standings to do it.

ah, niche service = more expensive :)

what's a reasonable payback period in EVE, a month, 2?

Charge them what they could reasonably make in that period

Aki and I mined last night for an hour, netting approximately 22 million isk worth of minerals (after corp tax, which came after MC's tax.) This isn't stellar, but it wasn't overly well planned, I was only in a Dominix, and we weren't in an ideal spot. With planning we could have done double that, easily. So the profits can be huge, while maintaining a good relationship with our hosts so we can keep this sweet spot alive. Friz is working hard on a Rorqual for Mano, which would boost our production capacity by an OMG factor of 10! 5punkorp could realistically have a full set of BS BPO's in a month if we utilize this area to it's maximum extent, and we'd probably be offered a place in MC if we mined that hard.

Aki asked me about security last night, and how often I see reds. MC protect their space very well, both through political and militaristic efforts. The blues are all friendly and polite when in local, I've even flown a bit with a few, and helped them out when they needed it. All you need to do is follow the simple rules in the NR thread, and enjoy the isk stream! So please get yourself sorted as quickly as possible by moving any ship needs to Chamemi, along w/ fittings. The corp's stock of fitted ships has been abused, and we're a bit short at the moment. Since Jimmy has left NR, you might talk w/ him about buying a ship or fittings that might be awaiting transport back to Empire.

Remember, it is 0.0, and the rats have teeth!

Oh, and for moving down: Move your clone to NC sharky's shopping place, (or some such name), it's our office out there. Then fly a T1 smallish ship w/ MWD and anti-jammish stuff out there. If you die enroute, you'll just get there faster, (so leave the implants behind if your head costs billions of isk). Some of us have died making the trip, others have run the gauntlet repeatedly with just an adrenaline rush to show for it. Jump clones ftw!

Yup. I'm gonna try and do some mining tonight. I just bought Supay's T2 fitted iteron off him to save me having to jump it back to empire. Jimmy has his stuff there still, but that'll get moved back soon unless someone buys it off him on site.

DP: going rate for setting up high sec POS on Eve-O is 150mill. I think Jimmy just wants it for himself, rather than Hobos.

Me? Stop?!?! When have you ever known me to be less than supportive and optimistic? (Besides cases w/ MIL, she's a horse of evil that sucked my will away over 2 years. Twas more exposure than even I could handle at times)

Seriously, even the Bistot that gets hammered the most is huge! Q and I hammered the same 3 roids for hours in Hulks, it was insane!

Anyone have the time to pick up about a dozen T2 strips and move to Chamemi for jumping? I've asked Jack/Brubeck to build T2 ice lasers, guess I should ask about T2 strips as well!
