With the future of BUM in question w/ the direction James Lyrus and Associates are taking, and now the mention of HOBOS leaving, I think it a good time to remind folks, "BUM is for Christmas, 5punk is 4-evuh!" And as such, talk about what these two events actually mean to the alliance, and 5punk.

With JL and HOBOS leaving, we'll lose a good portion of our pvp pilots, and the wing that could build us capitals, (although, only for a discount anyway, not as if they were free)

What does that mean for NR? Can we still mine and profit out there, since MC will still profit from us?

What is the view of the other remaining corps? Are they happy to stay in BUM if 5punk stays?

What would BUM become if it were primarily 5punkorp?

As stated above, THIS IS ONLY FOR DISCUSSION! Tis a shame that at the same time I've gotten discussion rolling about joint logistics, which I had hoped would pull us together, we're seeming to fall apart. One of my thoughts is that if we stand up and say we're staying, others might do as well.

I have many ideas/thoughts/visions, such is the nature of the Dres. What are yours?

Cool, thanks Dres. Damn it's good to have a director who thinks like me :)

K, lemme answer these in turn best I can:

NR: Wholly owned and run by 5punkorp. MC (and I) are happy for it to remain while it sill turns a profit and fulfills a useful function. All current members can stay unless they join an entity hostile to MC, at which point their alt will get the boot. Any assets I will purchase or shift back to empire.

BUM: without Hobos and Lyrus, the alliance is pretty pointless. I doubt it'd survive very long. Heard nothing from Asgard/11B yet.

What can 5punk do?

We can offer very little to prospective alliances: sporadic industry but nothing particularly special (no capitals or T2). Negligible PvP capability, and corp activity around 3 - 5 on a good day.

So if/when BUM folds, options that would be open to us immediately are:

* Rejoin ISS (they'd take us straight away)
* Look for a similar alliance elsewhere that might take us on reputation or have someone we know.
* Screw alliances and become empire based (less NR), concentrate on industry but chuck in a few war decs for a laugh, maybe recruit some randoms.

narf, I'm inclined to move to the 3rd option. We could go find a low sec or pipe gang to play with (Enh, S3verence or something) to keep the PvPers occupied.

Can't say I'd be wild about being back in ISS, given the reasons we left.

I vote we bimble along w/ the assets/skills/players we have, take people in on a person by person case, and do our 5punkiest to grow to our strengths. Remaining in BUM as long as it doesn't cost us anything, and looks like an alliance and all. Who's to say we won't run into another like-minded corp that needs support like we did, but doesn't want to leave their corp? Gives us an advantage to get more players, without making them leave their corp.

We should join goonswarm.

*hides*

I'll follow 5punk wherever it goes. ISS wouldn't bother me at all so long as we have independence as a corp, and aren't expected to join 500 person blobs. It would be a good vessel to move on, and perhaps the only realistic prospect.

5punk Diaspora! Now this may sound wild but that's because it is!

We're all 5punkers, bound by this forum and X-5punkers in game. Regardless of where we go, we will always be 5punkers, and in the end, we will come back to 5punk.

So what about we spread to the four winds? The industrial, isk earning heart of the corp stays put in NR, 5punkience or keeping 5punkorp warm for us. Our alts make our isk and we earn a salary from the work we do for Dres. Then we all go off and find a corp - any corp - and settle in. Work our way to the top, make good friends and solid contacts, or rape them for all their isk and scam them till their eyes bleed. Which character you choose to do it with will ultimately decide what fate you have in mind for the host. The key thing is, everything we do ultimately comes back to mother 5punk.

Guiding Hand 5punk Club anyone?

Damn, I volunteer to run something, and now I’m going to run it all, and pay salaries?  Why didn’t I do this earlier! Seriously, Friz’s plan A) Gives all of us the freedom to go and do what we want, (5punky in nature) B) is definitely like what has happened with many people in the past (5punky in nature again) C) Allows our dedicated industrial types to do what they like in support of 5punk’s long-term assets (we’ve always been industrial in some manner) (5punky in nature yet again) D) Allows for all levels of play, occupations, and political stances, (found 5punky on all counts).

More discussion?

Sounds like a corp thief idea and i will have nothing apart of that personally. To me thats not being very 5punky. (Now if you leave them 1 isk then you bought it then its not thieving)

Not at all Dolly. Read it again more carefully. You can do WHATEVER YOU WANT. If that's going out and making someone else indescribably rich whilst skimming off a little for 5punk, then so be it. Other may take a less scrupulous view though.

Speak of the devil. Did someone say something, Jimmy?
Elfaen wrote:narf i was gonna come and sl;y steal you two anyway [you two = 5punkorp and Hobos], regardless of weather you were breaking up or not. we've a five week contract in full swing atm, and we have a 2 month one following it so we need the numbers. Its hard finding decent eu corps these days and me and sylva could only really think of you guys. Our alliance had bonded really well with the us corps, theyre constantly active and moan for pew pew all the time :)
On top of that, we've bagged a const. in great wildlands which has a true sec of -0.82 so we've a nice quiet place to make iskies. away from the wars.
We've no empire wars to speak of and keep our pew pew in 0.0 so money making and general
carebearing is not effected. and to finish it off you've got me a nd sylva running gangs left right and center. killing everyone (when there isnt lag)
i think you'd fit right in :)

Actually, I had envisioned you joining up with a mission running corp and hitting those high-level missions with like-minded peeps and reaping uber lp's. You could keep their ammo hangar 'a bit low' at all times so that we could sell them cheap ammo at a small profit.

Who are these ER people, what are they after, and what would that do to NR? As long as their not aligned against MC, I don't see that it would change anything there.

Eternal Rising [316] - the guys we moved to Curse with in the first place. They're very much on our side, and a nice bunch (Jimmy had a brief fling with them). Strong US TZ, getting stronger in Euro TZ. Leader is Ex-...well almost everything really, BoB, MC, FLA, but they'd be more inclined towards McBoB if they were forced to take sides.

I'll do some more digging and see what I come up with, but so far from what I see they'd be a very viable option of we left BUM.

OK, this is rather long so I'll post an abridged version that covers the main points. Sylva Moon (the boss person of ER) convo'd me earlier. Short summary: they really want us cos they like us. Jimmy, make sure you have a rag to hand m'kay?

Main point is that WE ARE NOT GOING ANYWHERE YET. I'm just taking a break from the norm and keeping you all informed on my usual planning ahead process :)
