I've heard some concerns voiced recently about the state of health that 5punkorp is in.
Recent events within out alliance, (moving from providence, moving to curse) have taken more time than could have ideally, but the fluid and undisciplined nature of BUM is that, fluid and undisciplined, making us able to disappear at just the right moment, and hard to predict.
Some people have moved between corps to find something that fits them better, others will have life changes soon due to RL issues, and some are just unhappy with personal dealings with alliance members. That's the nature of the beast, we're a 'fire at will' alliance, (imho) not a 'everyone will fire at target x at exactly 10:37:02' type of all-or-none alliance. Basically the alliance is an extension of 5punkorp with alot older/high sp characters who can afford carriers.
We have seen some of our membership drop in recent months. RL happens, tis a sad fact that has to be accepted in a game. I had to move this summer, had limited playtime after that, and now have a house to take care of. eRabbit is going to be going to Uni, people are returning from summer breaks when the weather is agreeable to being outdoors, new games are on the market and demanding to be tried. People have had military careers move them about. People have to live their lives.
This may all seem to be dramatic, but keep reading!!!!
5punkorp is not dead, and cannot be killed. We've gained new members from the US TZ, a cool pair in the US Air horse. We've got a few great peeps in NR filling up virtual coffers to fuel our fleet. (which imho is the most important thing the alliance could use, and is a role 5punkorp fits perfectly). Even if 5punkorp were reduced to a pile of alts that log on once a year, it is more than just a corp. The '5punky way' lives outside of corporation bounds, it extends to BUM, NR, 5punkience, the hibernating Fw4ppers, and wherever we have past 5punkers still flying. Pilots will come and pilots will go, but once you're 5punky, it sticks to you!
So please, don't be disheartened that corp chat is a little lean, or that zombies have invaded x-5punkers and the chatting is weak. We're not manning the lifeboats or heading for greener pastures, we're 5punkorp. Whether we're actively in 5punkorp or one of it's allies or on hiatus, there are those of us that will always be 5punkers and keeping the 5punky way alive.
I'd like to thank those individuals, (yes, several of you) that have seen fit to ask me about the status of the corp. It's a good feeling to know that you came to me to find out what's up with the corp, and cared enough to ask.
And if you're one of our 'lost children', and find yourself reading this, know that you're still 5punky if you care enough to keep coming back, even if it's just to keep up with the news. There's enough 5punk for all to come back to!
So, if you're wanting to pvp, get to curse and join the fray, if your mining lasers want more than veld to chew on, get into NR and dine on Bistot for a change. Want to rule the research world, inquire into joining 5punkience and researching T2 bpc's for the corp. Poke Dres about producing/selling items for the corp and for sale. 5punkorp is still full of opportunities, and new members are welcome, but by invite only, we don't want to go the 'open recruiting' route w/ our current alliance and it's 'we'll shoot anybody' political stance. 5punk, get some on ya, in SPACE!!!

That'd be a slightly out of touch Fea speaking. Jimmy left 5punkorp fyi.
However, in principle what you say is quite right. If it seems quiet on this forum, it's because alot of the stuff is now on the Alliance forum (such as all the details for the move to Curse which I put several long posts up about, but neglected to copy them here, assuming that people read the Alliance forum).
Things are picking up again now we're in Curse and having more PvP fun (and summer's all but over).
And Dres is doing a fine job of keeping the US TZ people in tune. Keep it up!

Summer being summer and OU stuff running from Feb to Sept - I haven't really had a whole lot of Eve time recently. Exams finish mid October and I will definitely be back to more regular Eve then.
When I get back, Jin will be a month into capital ships training(carrier or dread?), Cyrinn should be most of the way done with T2 BC stuff having done all the T2 Frigs and cruisers - couldn't be arsed with dessies. Jhura has been Hulk ready for a while I just haven't got round to buying it and getting it shifted down to NR-land. I am therefore looking forward to getting back into space and to joining the rest of you chaps in Curse, if you're still there by then.
See y'all in a month or so y'hear.
