EA are cunts.

Post by Dr. kitteny berk »

Ok, so i just tried to (god forbid) play the game i payed for, and have played daily before now

I got into the game, just spawned, my Computer locked solid, after 2 minutes i hit the reset button on my computer, on rebooting my computer locked before the login screen, ejecting the dvd fixed that.

now, inserting the dvd results in lots of dvd drive spinning and little function.

I'm gonna email EA and growl.

EA are utterly retarded... They've forgotten what it means to be gamers and seem to just find as many ways as possible to suck cash from punters instead of innovating and letting games flourish.

Their copy protection has failed, repeatedly. This game has been available well before release because someone was able to copy the disc. So why on Earth do they bother with trying to protect games - is a CD key for online play not enough for them?

And now, with the sight of fierce competition from other games on the horizon, they've forced the release of a game that's somewhat unfinished and unstable (seemingly to swindle as much money from excited fans as possible). Instead of making sure a game of merchantable quality is released to market to compete on a playing field it could almost certainly dominate, it has spat out a nearly-finished product that is now floundering around making hundreds of gamers very pissed off.

Would it be unfair to suggest that we've all paid for a game that should really only be classed as a beta?

Something needs to be done to make EA listen to their customers; because all it seems is that EA have once again proven themselves to be unsympathetic, money-grabbing fucktards with absolutely no regard for quality control.

I've just read that it only has one gameplay mode... I'm seriously debating whether I should get this now.

When it works, it's the best damn game I've played online for some time. When it doesn't work, it's the most infuriating piece of bug-riddled shite I've come across since Windows Me.

EA fucked about with me on their "UBER L337!!!" security, and still haven't replied to my email about what was wrong with my DVD. I've since flashed my DVD and sorted the problem on my own.

Now, you can't expect average customers to do this all the fucking time. People will just send the game back.

I've played it all weekend without any problems whatsoever (apart from the junk laggy interface for finding servers and slightly high ping connections to servers). Its the best game I've played in yonks...

My copy has finally settled down now that I'm using the nvidia drivers on the game disk, highest resolution @ 60Hz and textures to medium I think. although the server selection screen is very clunky and I've had the odd crash. no problems with anti-piracy measures fortunately.

what a great game, but needs some work and EA are still cunts

EDIT: sounds like you need this

The same happened to me Berk, except the spazzing at the login screen.

Was playing on dragon valley (I think) and all of a sudden, my screen goes black, and my PC completly locks up, forcing me to push the big shiny button of do0o0o0m (reset buton).

I wonder if the beta testers even loaded up BF2 and played it on the video on the bf2 site.

Or were they just holding the mouse and and had their hands in the WASD postion, watching a BF2 video.. :?
