[H]elp Desk Humor
The guys that run the help desk at your local PC shop see it all. Now, when I say “see it all” I mean that literally. Check out what [H] reader Brant sent in:
We run a PC repair shop in *******. The other day one of our customers brought his PC in and says it keeps rebooting and the CPU temperature is very high. He told us he has always built his own PCs and that he knows what he’s doing, yet he can’t figure out what is wrong.

I can remember trying out whether an old CPU works very long whilst without heatsink/fan.. It was a Pentium III, it lasted about 5 seconds before it blew. It did not start again

There was this Pentium 90MHz that we had running completely bare, not even a heatsink. Naturally I was curious to see how hot it was running.
