War Online

Post by Serious Sam »

Warhammer Online.

Sounds very faaabulous doesn't it. Thats what i thought. But it looks absolutley mental. Much better than faaabulous fairy land with even more opportunities for pvp and a laugh.

Well me and some of the lads i played with from my old WoW guild may start playing it. Its really really good and some of the gang have beta keys and are spending their lives on them.

If we start I will post info here about it. Our guild is all about having a laugh and having fun. We'd love to welcome any 5punk lads into it if you are looking.

Oh and don't worry; alot of the cm may be arseholes in game but its all rp. We are actually a decent bunch of guys who enjoy a laugh.

Until then. Just a heads up.

Will have to look at this, as I'm a little tired of my existing MMOs, but then I'm a bit wary of this Games Workshop franchise, given my journey from C64 Space Crusade to PC Dark Crusade eerily mirrors that of my C64 Hobbit to PC LotRO one.

I've applied too. Looks good, could fill the MMONG gap that City of Heroes left.

Just hope it isn't too much like WOW.

Have a few friends into MMOs who have given the beta a go. They say its good to start off with but not so long after that you realise its just gleaned too much from wow... Not looking good

Aping the market leader isn't necessarily a bad thing, the control system in WoW is without peer in my view, and I find similar-looking games that don't allow you to simulate it (Tabula Rasa, Dungeon Siege, Titan Quest, even Oblivion) to be stupidly, unnecessarily unwieldy in comparison.

It's not like the control method is copyrighted - it's effectively the same in LoTRO. Take the best bits from the best, don't reinvent the fucking wheel, but remove all the boring bits that made me tired of WoW not long after the beta had finished.

Example: Every boar has a skin. Don't make me kill 25 of them, just to get 5 bastard skins.

That was SWG, you pretty much didn't get quests, Most NPCs just wandered around leaving the players to sit in their guild hall drinking correlian ale and watching twilekk porn.

Interesting... I'll be keeping an eye on this one. Where would one get a b3ta key from?
