offically, its a game like paintball but a bit more wimpy but looks more "realistic" (read: likely to get you arrested nowadays)

Man, your room's a mess! And you appear to have a large silver dildo on your fireplace.ProfHawking wrote:offically, its a game like paintball but a bit more wimpy but looks more "realistic" (read: likely to get you arrested nowadays)

Airsoft > Paintball
Airsoft is more manly, and has more badgers and ferrets.
{edit}
Airsoft stings, Paintball bruises, Airsoft uses tactics, Paintball you just throw yourself at the enemy and try not to get shot.
IMO i prefer to be wearing a nice set of flora bdus with a trusty AK74 in my hands, than wearing yellow spandex with a gun that resembles a super soaker.
Pantball guns also make a *fap* sound when fired.
Here is some useful airsoft info: http://www.arniesairsoft.co.uk/?filnavn ... asics.html
These are the best foums in the U.K and America for Airsoft (u.k based):

I used to play paintball and it was more or less camo in the woods, and being strategic. I've never seen or heard of anyone wearing yellow spandex, though it's been a long time since I've played.Soloman wrote:Airsoft stings, Paintball bruises, Airsoft uses tactics, Paintball you just throw yourself at the enemy and try not to get shot.

How does it keep track if you get hit? Is it an honor system thing?
It seems to me if I'm going to be shooting targets or anything like that, I'd rather be shooting a real gun

this. why would you be more tactical? if you get fully owned by the entire over team in paintball you will generaly feel glum as compared to giggling like a girl cos sum1 shot you with some plastic. so this in itself horses tactial thinking as you just dont want to die. also the sound the paint splattering on surfaces alone is enough to scare the enemy and create cover for yourself. funny ive never heard of the army using airsoft for training, but they always do it with paintball. wonder why...Nickface wrote:I used to play paintball and it was more or less camo in the woods, and being strategic. If you get shot, depending on what type of game you are playing, you have to walk back to the respawn, which can be up to 400 meters away, then you can get back into the action.
These things do hurt by the way, depending on where you get hit, the feel like bee-stings.
IIRC, the army uses blanks for training, not painball guns.
Why would they use airsoft guns? firing at over 700 rpm it seems a bit unrealistic, does it not? As does using semi auto paintball markers.
That leads me to another point.
IIRC Paintball is semiautomatic, Airsoft, depending on which weapon you use, is full-auto.
[Edit]
These are paintballers. End of argument.

does it fire ball bearings?
theres a shop in glasgow that i got my guitar out of that sells weaponry of all sorts, combat knifes for "hunting" with (although i'm sure that the blackened blade and the cerated edge really isn't needed for deer) and even a replica of the klingon swordy thing
i was tempted to get a crossbow though
