Games out this week - 23rd Feb 2007

Post by TezzRexx »

Welcome on and all to another edition of Games out this week!™: Ending Friday 23rd February 2007

So before we begin, I'm sorry that this edition is stupidly late as I've very busy with Uni wark etc. So some games may/probably/are missing due to most websites no longer showing what is out today. If you do notice anything I've missed, just drop us xfeir message or reply here.

So once again, apologies :(

 HAX!

EDIT: Q*bert removed. It's apparently a DEMO for the Playstation 3 - http://www.pro-g.co.uk/news/16-02-2007-4797.html

Damn my feeble eyes!

I've played about 5 hours and I'm enjoying it muchly. Even after 5 hours it seems like I'm still near the beginning of the game so hopefully this should last me a while.

I wasn't sure about the new battle system but its growing on me. It lets them do more interesting boss battles than the previous system at least.

I played it for another 12 or so hours today (pics to come of my "gamer kit" for sustenance). I rather like the new battle system, as it always gives you the feeling there's another way to attempt everything, and I haven't felt like giving up once.

As long as you save whenever you can in at least three different slots, and before you select or buy any stuff, and don't do anything stupid (like attacking a never-before-seen enemy miles after a save) it's quite forgiving. Even sections I've had to repeat have been okay, since I did them so much better the second time, and never had to repeat more than once, although it's been skin of the teeth on a couple of occasions.

I'm REALLY liking the way that even though easy enemies don't give much XP, they all give LP (for skillz buying). Need 5 LP for that next skill? Kill 5. Of ANYTHING.

Um, slightly later than advertised, here is my Gamer's Kit (TM) for long days in front of unputdownable releases. Yes, it's from February when FFXII came out, but I only just found the pics and uploaded them.

Kit duly noted. I need 3 buckets and a fuckload of ice STAT!

Is the stuff still cold after 6 months?

No, but it lasted admirably for around 20 hours.

Is the flatpack of something part of the kit?
