Many bothans might have died

Post by Anhamgrimmar »

Yep. If bothans had brought me this, i'da killed em meself. however, they didnt, but i got this link out of a friend.

I make no representation to its truthfullness (its a real word, honest) or relevancy.
Dodgy link that anhams got wrote:

STANDING ORDERS: 5/12 THE WAR TO RUIN EVE
What Happened Yesterday:

BoB invades as predicted and went for the 'kick the beehive' option of POS-spamming 9-98. They put up about 16 large towers and then began trying to block out all of the 66 moons in that system with small towers to prevent a counter-spam. Then, something went wrong. Maybe it was the fact that they got mocked on Scrapheap for POS-spamming. Maybe it was because we blew up some of their haulers with towers in them (I doubt it, they could have just carriered in more). Most likely, after 10 hours of doing absolutely fucking nothing and being completely blueballed, they simply fucked up and missed a bunch of open moons. Omnipotence itself, my ass.

What Happened Last Night:

BoB of course knew that we'd have an op at 3:00, as we always do, and they set their little alarm clocks and got all geared up for the EPIC FLEET BATTLE their leaders had promised them. Unfortunately for them, goons are assholes. Instead of an epic fleet battle, we fighterbombed the shit out of their support fleet with frigates, resulting in a ton of comedy killmails with titan pilots DDing and smartbombing their own guys, not to mention a whole rack of HAC, command and BS kills with nothing but frigate losses in return. Hours pass and nothing but misery and fighterbombing occurs to poor bored BoB, and right before downtime suddenly a bunch of Swarm towers start anchoring, onlining, and being turned into Deathstars.

Our Current Situation:

BoB is shooting towers in 9-98 because they only shot about 5 of them yesterday; we can expect them to reinforce ours during Euro time, and for us to run around raping them during US time. During euro time our standard practice will be to blueball and make them miserable; our purpose in this game is to ruin everything they find fun or enjoyable about EVE: their combat style, their fancy ships, their egos, their inability to keep goons from shitting in their precious sandbox. While some of you may still insist that you should fly fruitlessly into BoB's main fleet in a head-on BUSHIDO BATTLE, the whining Dianabolic posts on Scrapheap yesterday plus the "oh god we're so bored" empty moons are a testament to the power of blueballing.

What will we do about 9-98?

Step one: counter spam. Done that. Step two: blow up their towers. This is critically important, yet I won't commit to 'when' we'll do that as it's too easy to set up a capital trap. What BoB had HOPED to do was show up, lock us down, block out every moon, and then horse a capital engagement on the weekend when they can stay up into GS/RA primetime and hope to nail our caps. Unfortunately, they got frustrated and sloppy and left us empty moons, so they can't horse a capital engagement on their terms. We'll have one on our terms and our timetable, with a combined GS/RA capital fleet.

What YOU should do today:

1. Make sure your mental shit is together and that you are chill.

This is going to be a long slogging war, which is awesome because we love those. Time helps us far more than our enemy, who already has 50m sp; by contrast, we'll have a ton of new capital pilots by the end of this month. Delaying tactics work in our favor, not BoB's. This will require the average Drama Goon to chillax a bit. I will periodically tell you NOT to fight, and while you might not see the wisdom of this from the tactical level, our situation yesterday has proven the value of such orders at the strategic level.

2. Make sure you have combat ships fitted in multiple stations.

Serious Business setups for main fleet actions, fast frigates and interceptors for fighterbombing, ready to rock in multiple stations throughout goonspace. We don't know where they'll hit next, or where we'll strike from, so it's key that every goon is able to immediately hop in a ship, good to go, wherever we could be fighting. Focus on Tenerifis/Detorid for now, though.

3. LOG OUT IN A SAFESPOT WHEN YOU ARE FIGHTING IN A WARZONE

We told people to do this yesterday and a lot didn't; station-camping by one side or another is a constant tactic you can bet on. Log out in a personal safespot and warp to a friendly pos or gang when you get back in-game.

4. Be ready for nightly late-night ops and daily cockfagging ops.

At night: strategic assholery. During the day: tactical faggotry. Many of you underestimate the power of cockfagging to grind down the enemy. BoB's pets should not be let off the hook merely because we've got BoB on our doorstep; we can't fight them effectively in euro time, so let's make sure that their rent-paying tenants are completely miserable and begging to their masters for succor. BoB pets are some of the worst form of pubbie we have encountered in this game, and they deserve your most vicious, sadistic griefing. Make them howl and quit the game.

Strategically speaking, cockfagging MATTERS. Pets can't pay rent, BoB doesn't make money, pets stop showing up to BoB fleet ops because they're 'tired and sick of it' and they don't feel the need to help a landlord fight when that landlord can't shelter them from goon raiders. We have seen this in every war yet: cockfagging wins battles before they are even fought.

Well the only reason i posted it, was the whole "Last edited by The Mittani : Today at 11:36. " which makes it still current.

If its genuine.

As friz pointed out, by the time my source gets hold of it, its not likely to be genuine/relevant anymore, so dont read too much (anything) in to it

Heh, that's really quite old and very much in the public domain. It's what kicked off all the accusations of Goons deliberately trying to 'ruin' the game, following so soon after the infamous forum spamming episode, threats of court action by CCP and the banning of all Eve talk from Something Aweful (Goon) forums.

Regardless of how effective Goons are, the tone does reinforce why I detest their style. Originally Goons were popular as they were the only 0.0 alliance that allowed complete noobs to join on day 1, and it was all about having fun playing a game using the power of numbers to win. Then they got all serious about winning and started doing some pretty detestable things such as deliberately crashing nodes to beat gate camps. I lost all respect for them soon after.
