Right. So we keep the box for ourselves to flog, and whatever junk is inside we give to that elven nonce for the job.
Back to the warehouse?

Leland wrote:Well, the problem I have is I'm not sure we really want to open the box. Really, I think that might be a very bad idea. I'll ask my mate and see if he can tell me anything about this box or what's inside it. While I do that, I think you guys should probably keep on scoping the place out. I'll let you guys know what's up ASAP.

Right, after the chat with his contact, Leland has discovered a rather important bit of information:
Leland wrote:Right chaps, the box we are going to steal contains a rather powerful, and probably very angry, summoned spirit. And when I say angry I mean he'd probably punch my face off and eat my brains if we let him out. Since the spirit isn't bound to anyone properly, it's going to fade away in a few days, which is why they need us to get it soon. I think as long as we don't open the box, we should be ok, but if we're going to manage to keep the box, we're going to have to find out how to do it without letting the spirit loose. I don't know what kind of spirit in there, but I'm not sure I want to find out either.
How'd you guys get on then?

Chopper tries to see if there are any windows/skylights that he can peek through, and also to see if any might be a useful entry point.Chopper wrote:Leland, Al - I'm back at the warehouse and there's some weird glowy shit going on. You managed to get any more info about that box? I'm not overly keen on having a demon chew off my handsome good looks.

ok, the roof has quite a few windows. The roof is arranged in that saw tooth style of warehouse roof, with two ridges running front to back. The vertical sides are facing you, and in each of these sides there are 10 windows, all quite large. They would certainly be big enough to fit through. You cant see much from the windows at the moment, you would need to go closer to them. All you can see from where you are is the ceiling of the sloping roof opposite the window. At the far end of the roof, you can see what appears to be some kind of aircon units.

After a short pause
...
Approaching the windows of the warehouse (stealthily) Chopper gets a slightly better view of the inside of the warehouse. From here you can see that beyond the reception at the front of the building, the warehouse is one large room, internally. Theres 5 guards that you can see, two near the front door, one wandering on a route around what the other two are guarding the entrance of: a large metal container in the center of the warehouse. You can make out some kind of airlock at the door, and what appear to be air filters on the top. Theres also some kind of symbols daubed on the sides in what looks like red paint; you are no expert, but they look probably magical.
The guards are your average rent-a-goon, sporting light machine guns and basic armour/comms units.

Right, a few things for me to catch up on;
I'm ex-Renraku myself, with Renraku Corp knowledge of 3. Do I know anything about this, or get any inclination about what these guys might be up to?
I've got a Mr Johnson contact, as close as a runner can get to a best mate, has he heard anything (Minoru Katayama, loyalty 4, connection 4)?
I used to date a cop who might know something about the gang fight here earlier. Might be relevant, might not, but I'll ask her. (Donna Paige, loyalty 2, connection 3).
I'm a bit down with the kids. I'm a bit rusty, but I can still talk the talk. Those Ultrasonics down the road are thrill seekers; bung them 50 nuyen and they might be a nice distraction, especially if all the guards are bored.

You agree with SPI, this doesn't "feel" right for a Renraku job. The way its being handled, the people involved, everything about it doesn't sit right with you.Dog Pants wrote: I'm ex-Renraku myself, with Renraku Corp knowledge of 3. He has heard some noise about the Johnson you are working for. Apparently he is very much small time. *Very* small time; the 'runs he has organised before have been so small as to be almost legitimate. The fact that he is pulling something like this together probably means that he has either recently moved up in the corporate world, or he wants to. Couple that with the strangely unofficial feel to the run, and Katayama would lean toward the latter. He is probably putting his neck severely on the line here.I've got a Mr Johnson contact, as close as a runner can get to a best mate, has he heard anything (Minoru Katayama, loyalty 4, connection 4)?
She doesnt know anything specific about the gang fight, but she does know they are fairly common in this area. Not enough to raise eyebrows, but enough that building security get nervous if it gets too close to their front door.I used to date a cop who might know something about the gang fight here earlier. Might be relevant, might not, but I'll ask her. (Donna Paige, loyalty 2, connection 3).
