World of Warcraft
It's a game of cows and goblins, living in a world that hates you.
5punkcraft
There's something of a 5punky following of World of Warcraft and at the time of writing there's usually someone online. The 5punky guild is called I Love Horses and is set up as a levelling guild. Several 5punkers are not part of the guild but will still play along, helping out on instances and suchlike.
Membership
I Love Horses is not a guild with many rules, but its members are somewhat specific in their sense of humour and expectations of behaviour. Even this isn't enforced, but anything considered antisocial behaviour will probably lead to a quick and unannounced boot from the guild if warnings are ignored.
Communication
The first thing likely to put us off a potential member is their communication. Please don't use leetspeak, excessive amounts of punctuation, capitals, or anything else considered bad internet etiquette. Abbreviations such as 'lol', 'wtf', and 'bbq', when used appropriately, are acceptable, but a tell saying "lol can i join ur guild plsssss" will get you ignored. Please speak English (although non-native English speakers can expect some flexibility).
Attitude
The reason the guild exists is to provide mutual support to each other in the game. Nothing more, nothing less. In order to do that we need to be friendly and helpful. This means bad attitudes towards other members is a no-no, and a couple of tantrums will probably see a new member dropped like a teenage testicle.
Swearing
We fucking love it, feel free.
Joining the Guild
Most 5punkers have the ability to invite new members. Simply send a tell to an online member requesting an invite. If done in English any 5punker should either do as requested or pass you on to a more senior 5punker who is online at the time.
- Correct invite request: "Hi, I'm looking for a guild. I've seen your Wiki/forum and think I might fit in. Could I get an invite please?"
- Incorrect invite request: "can i join ur guild", "guild invite pls"
There are no requirements for joining other than the behaviour expected as outlined above.
Ranks
Guild Facilities
I Love Horses is fairly well equipped for levelling. Characters at any level should be able to use the bank and chat channels for support, making the journey to lvl80 easier and more entertaining. Most players will have several alts in the guild of various levels who can team up for missions or instances, and the lvl80 characters will generally be happy to run lower level members though instances.
The Bank
The I Love Horses bank consists of four bank vaults which are restricted by rank. Fwappers will initially have no bank access, but upon advancing to 5punker will gain access to the two lower tabs. The vaults are designated level ranges, so the lower tabs should see a character through from levels 1 to 50 before further promotion is needed. The bank has some guidelines in order to keep it useful and to stop it being filled with stuff that nobody wants:
- Please use the bank
- Place items in the appropriate tab for the level
- If there is no room either remove old/undesirable object to make room, or don't put it in
- Do not place anything in the bank you wouldn't want another player to take
- Please take anything you can use from the bank
- Please don't put grey/white stuff or large amounts of crafted stuff in there unless you know it will be used
Spunkchat
Spunkchat is a custom chat channel set up to cross the divide between forumites in different guilds. Some 5punkers have since moved to raiding guilds, others started in different guilds. All should be able to join the spunkchat channel so we can talk bollocks to each other. Use the command /join spunkchat to join, and it is recommended thet the Chatter mod is installed to allow linking, stickying the channel, and colouring the channel magenta. Guild members are encouraged to use the spunkchat channel rather than the guild channel in order to allow access to non-guild members.
