ImageCapcom Europe boss Mark Beaumont isn't worried about the PS3's price. Indeed, when quizzed as to whether he thinks that's the cause of the console's sales woes, he says no, it most certainly is not. Rather, it's the games. Or, specifically, the lack of games.
I would say Sony's product portfolio has had more to do with holding them back than the price point of the hardware itself.
Don't worry, it's not all doom and gloom. Drawing parallels with the PS2's early days, he thinks their fortunes will improve once some better games start appearing later this year and into 2008. Still. All this nay-saying, makes you wonder whether Sony pissed in Capcom's collective coffee last week.

He's not wrong, but that's how it is for new consoles, developers won't commit to a single console unless they see decent sales, people won't buy the console unless there are lots of games they can't play on anything else.

Sony need to pay some people to make some games, not just insist their system is the bestest while everyone else finds it virtually indistiguishable from the 360.
