Specs seem reasonable, still worried the game will be eaten by its own hype though.

Seems quite good, I'll comply with all of the higher standards when I upgrade soon.

After reading a review that said it was less stealthy stealthy super explorey, and more all out shooty.. I feel mildly deflated.

Game requires internet connection for activation
Oh, ffs. It'll be like HL2 in 10 years, means you can't install it and play it again.

Yay, kinda. to me that's mostly a good thing, as I get bored of poncing about trying to find keys and magical crap to do stuff, downside, it'll probably end up as another average FPS.

To be honest, if any of these systems are gonna last 10 years, it's gonna be steam, remember it's 5 years old already (christ, I remember the release)

What? that makes no sense. Even if Valve disappears (which is highly unlikely for the foreseeable future) they have unlocking code ready for their games so you can play them without needing the Steam servers.

Even if Valve didn't provide it I'm sure someone would sort it out a way to play all the Steam games without the Steam servers,
As for Bioshock; my PC is just about the recommended spec but I'm tempted to get the 360 version so I don't need to worry about it. From what I've seen it looks pretty playable with a pad, no super accurate/fast aiming, maybe.

I suspect Valve are here to stay, for a mockup of their site in ten years time, simply crudely replace all references of HL Ep 2 with a 3.

Well, Gaben has said that he and is ex-Microsoft cronies are willing to personally fund their game development out of pocket. I think they're going to be around for quite a while.

I still cant get used to reading the specs for a game that isnt out yet and finding I have better than the recommended spec. Its wierd.
