Nom Nom: GAME Continue Universal Conquest British specialist retailers GAME have just announced some tidy financial results. Their sales in the UK and Ireland for the past six months have risen by 71.1%, with international sales up by 82.8%. What's their secret? Corporate hungry-hungry-hippos. GAME devour anyone foolish enough to stand in their way, with a big part of these increases down to their takeover of rivals Gamestation in May. Nothin's gonna stand in their way. Not tonight.
There are a few stores up here called Grainger Games who are generally pretty good, and have so far held off the conquest. They're not too expensive, and have a decent range of second-hand games for all platforms. That said, I bought my PSP from Gamestation because Grainger Games didn't have one with the right firmware at the time.
Grainger are well priced, and cater well for second hand stuff, but I've found they're very console orientated. The range of PC games in the one in the Metro centre is frankly bizarre.
