Clip: Gamecock to Pub Section 8
newVideoPlayer("Section8_gawker.flv", 475, 376);
TimeGate Studios, the people behind the Kohan series and FEAR Extraction Point, have signed a publishing deal with
Gamecock for their upcoming sci-fi
shooter Section 8. The video has a pretty slick look to it, but I was hoping it was going to be a shooter that involved at least a touch of insanity. I mean, why else call it Section 8?

Why else call it section 8? Good question, maybe its a truly original game that involves a giant, spider leg-like, multi-sectioned black hairy penis as a weapon? Or possibly not.
Oh, wait, I've watched the video now, Its F.E.A.R. but with aliens instead of little girls and clones, and its halo, and gears of war, and every other space fps thing, but it is shiny.

I strongly suspect that pretty much any American would know what Section 8 is - and it's commonly referred to as Section 8, not the Housing Choice Voucher Program.
On the other hand, I
still don't get yours. Also, I'm sure at least twenty video games like you described have been developed for the Japanese market.
Finally, as resident grammar Nazi, it is my duty to inform you that your apostrophe key appears to be broken.
PS: because no-one has pointed it out in this thread yet... Game

I would have assumed the military use, aka being "sectioned" which I don't think is purely a US term. But I did watch a lot of M*A*S*H.
I guess Pete's reference started out with it being a spider (8 sectioned legs) but he then got understandably distracted by massive hairy cocks.
http://www.southcarolinagamecocks.com/ ?! Does a GameCock have some sort of meaning I'm not aware of, ie: a not-rude one?

Yes. You know game birds, like pheasants, grouse, etc.? That. Possibly fighting cocks, too (no, not like that).

Isn't a section 8 a nut case, sectioned out of the (probably US) army?
I thought I'd heard of a specific bird called a gamecock, and a gamehen. Could be wrong though.
