Help needed with making CSS sprays

I have Photoshop CS and understand about using the alpha channels to make transparency, but whenever I try to save my spray it doesn't let me save it as a tga. Can anyone tell me how to either a) let it save as a tga, or b) save it some other way in which it can be used

Thanks in advance :)

Usually, when I try, I have have to options of .tga, from the drop down menu in the save menu. If one doesn't work, try the other.

I've had this problem with GIFs. If I remember right certain types of source files won't let you save as certain other types. If it's an uncommon file type try converting the source image to a different format. Failing that you could always open an existing tag and edit it with your new image, then save as. It will already be a tga so it should save okay (just remember to change the filename).

Just a wild guess, but are you in RGB color mode? You can make sure by going to "image" "mode" then make sure there's a checkbox next to "RGB Color"

Sometimes if you're on something like Indexed Color (for GIFs and PNG files), you can't save them another way.

Remeber, it doesn't always say tga. it could be named targa.
